2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

I encountered locally that PC engine lot. I'm not into PC engine but I think it could be a good way to finally enter the PC Engine world (I'm more a TurboGrafx dude). How much will you pay for this lot? The guy is asking 650$ and I'm pretty sure that it's overpriced. So what's you think? Thanks a lot!

Are the consoles complete with all their cables? Are they both in perfect working order?

Are the games complete as well?

If yes to all those, 300-350 would probably be a fair price. The seller's asking price is indeed pretty high.

I'm not an expert on value, but that seems incredibly high. Its also not a particularly awesome selection of games in the first place. I mean, if you have a SGX, what are you going to do with a regular PCE? Half those games are worth about $5 or less, and many of them are pretty so-so. After spending $650 you should damned well be able to play CDs!

If you have the bread, the best way to get into PCE is to buy a Duo R, and buy the best low priced games one at a time. Ask here, and people will gladly tell you the best cheap PC Engine games. Going this route you could easily build a WAY better collection than this for $650.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything Zeta said here.

There isn't anything earth shattering among the list of games. Even at 300-400 it's not a really good lot to start off with. The most valuable thing in the whole lot is probalby the PC Engine GT...

If you already have full CD capability with your TurboGrafx setup it might be a good lot for you, but if you don't have access to the CD games yet, you should think about getting a PCE setup that can get you CD ROM capability.

the lil bit more pricey games are:

1943
aldynes
daimakaimura
Kiki KaiKai

those alone CIB would cost you easly 100~120 bucks. the rest is like already mentioned, $5~10 titles.

i don't know of how much a lose GT and SGX going in the US atm.

but i thinke both can be get by around 100 bucks each.

120
13x5 (65)
100
100
------
385

400 should be the very max. to spend for this. and only if in good conditions. and because it is a bundle, it should be given a discount of at least 50 bucks.

and here we have the above mentioned 300 ~ 350 bucks.

Here is a recent thread I made when I just recently started collecting PCE Hu Cards.

These guys are real nice and will help you as much as they helped me. They are all good Joes in my book.  :)

I had a thread (I think) from last year detailing the best PCE CD-ROM2 and Super CD-ROM2 titles, but I can't seem to locate it at the moment.

neoxeno

I made an offer at 250$ and he told me that the lower he could go would be 450$. So better luck next time. Thanks guys for the enlightenment  O:)

Better to walk away than overpay.  $450 was still to high IMO.
