Yes it's ture konami is having another contra in the works.Though this time,they farm it out to arc systems the developer behind the gulitygear&blazblue serise.

Anyway, at least with ARC, the "sprites" will be high resolution.  If it were Capcom, they'd be low-res.  Remember the Capcom Dreamcast fighting games?  Back then ARC did high-res work on Dreamcast games.  Now I'm just waiting to find out which character in this new Contra game will be dude dressed as a chick.

This game does look awesome.  To me, this is more of a Contra game than the underwhelming Contra Rebirth on Wii.  I can't wait to really lay into this hard corpse with everything I got.

People actually liked Contra Rebirth?  I still haven't bought Gradius or Castlevania Rebirth because I was disappointed with Contra Rebirth.

Contra WiiBirth wasn't bad.  Castlavania WiiBirth is MUCH better.  Gradius WiiBirth looked like an unwiped, crusty anus.  ALL downlaodable games are supposed to be mega-short.

Because it is en vogue to play word games with titles these days.  Is The Dark Knight not a Batman movie because it does not have "Batman" in the title?  It's hip and trendy, like not numbering sequels any more.  Notice that there is no game called Silent Hill 7.  But there are 7 Silent Hill games and an 8th coming soon.  Sooo hip and trendy.  Damn hippies.

Who, me?  No I already said that I enjoyed Contra and especially Castlevania WiiBirth.  Those Saturn/Playstation Contras sucked balls!  I even have a hard time accepting Shattered Soldier because the only color in the game is brown.  Reminds me of my toilet after a fun bout of diarrhea.

Contra Rebirth is a crappy Contra 3.  The game just isn't as well done in ever regard.

Since it is so many years later, I imagine the game would get better?

Then again, Contra Force did follow Contra and Super C, and that game is the worst of all.

Well with Konami and most other big companies outsourcing to other studios and just becoming the publisher, of course the games are not going to be as good.  At least it's not the 32-bit age Contra's.  Then again this game isn't even Contra.

So it's supposedly a successor to the Genesis/MD game?  Hmm...then why the hell is it so damn slow?  It's too Arc System Worksish.  If it was faster paced and you had no life bar I'd maybe like it a tad more.  I do know the MD version of Contra Hard Corps had sort of an energy bar, and Konami US got rid of it for the Genesis.  How far along is this game in development?

Unfortunately and watching over the past 15 years, most of the 2D games have proven the pure contrary (with some exceptions), and the trend shows no sign of changes.
Now even houly Cave became one of those ugly render bastards.

I'm just glad, that I have still tons of classic 2D games in the pipeline which have to be (re-)played.
