So this just goes to show how little I actually get on the internet and what not, as I spend a lot more time playing games and taking care of family, and watching gory splatter films and what not. I just now found out at time of this posting that Rising Stuff store is no more

This is so very sad. Im sure there is already probably a thread about this somewhere but I dont feel like searching for it. This is definately a downer for me, as they provided the best customer service I have ever experienced for an online site.

You had to specifically ask for them.

She sold them apart, or she would give them to you for free if you bought something from her... but you had to actually ask her for them, as she never tried to push them, and never even hinted that she had them in any of her game auctions.

What really happened is:

Sensei got too busy because of having a kid and wife, and whatnot. Understandable.

Then, Good ol' Alex Tardborino took over the operations and quickly turned the place into Falling Junk instead of Rising Stuff.

He let loose a campaign of empty promises, clueless salesmanship (Ever have to tell someone who's supposedly well versed in reading Japanese that they listed a game on the site by the company name (Scaptrust, written in english on the cart) instead of the actual game (Crimson)? I have. Thanks to him, lol), poor customer service (HEY I LOST YOU ORDER, ILL TELL OTHER PEOPLE, I WONT TELL YOU THOUGH. I MIGHT REPLY TO YOUR PM IN LIKE 3 MONTHS AND DODGE THE PROBLEM AGAIN FOR AWHILE. THEN ILL ACT LIKE ITS ALL YOUR FAULT AND FAIL TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR BEING A FUCK UP).

ETC. etc. etc.

Things like that contributed to

BEST. YEAR. EVARRRRRR.
I blame him for the downfall of the entire operation. 100%. The way he came on here to start flailing at members blaming US for the problems was a nice way to hit the nail on the head. Telling me "YOUR SPECIAL ORDER PRIVILEGES ARE REVOKED" was great, especially since after that I got a message from Sensei saying the exact opposite. Alex apparently likes to go rogue and make up his own rules.

Yes, its totally my fault he neglected to tell me (but told others!) the item I was waiting on to complete my giant order was lost in transit. Totally my fault! And its totally my fault he sent the stuff out to who the hell knows where. Thank God I never actually paid. (Since I was waiting for that final item to show up). Whats funny is, someone got a random package of PCFX and PCE games. I am sure that person was either ecstatic, or confused as hell.

The part of it all that I feel bad about is that Sensei tried to fix the problems. He approached the problem like a good businessman, and tried to fix everything up. Had that weird Japan shipping charge increase thing not went down at the same time, I would have gotten my stuff. A year late, but I would've! So I never got the stuff, but in the end I consider the transaction a plus thanks to Sensei. Its not his fault the shipping increase went up to where it was too obnoxious to get.

So, long story short:

Alex happened.

My friend used to write interesting articles (online and print publications) a few years ago (late 90's, early ) about wacky stuff like that. He shared so many crazy stories.

Anyway, one of my favorite things he did: play chess/card games with this old dude (in his 70's-80's). The dude, of course, played in the nude and had an all-glass table. If you were a free-spirit, like the old codger, you were encouraged to take off your clothes as well, but you were under no pressure to do so. He simply wanted people to play cards/chess with him whilst he was naked.

He had a short page on his website about their fuckups, so they threatened to sue for defamation of character. They backed off after finding a dictionary and learning that defamation and definition are not interchangeable.

I was looking at PS3s back around launch day, and there were a ton of different sellers obviously. One in particular caught my eye, it was a PS3 with a cute redhead holding it or modeling it or something. The guy had a bunch of photos of her, and it stated something like you get a bunch of more racy photos. I asked about it, and he wound up sending me topless photos of his girl with a PS3. I still have them, but I gotta find them. I remember finding them a couple years ago and I got a big laugh!

That really pissed me off when I watched those videos. I never bought anything from them, but i'm glad I didn't. It just shows that they have no business sense at all, and didn't really give a rats ass about their customers. They were purely in it for the quick money.

In the video.... the guy playing the games acting like he's stoned. He works with Sean Orange at Famicom Dojo... buy/sell/trade and youtube video channel stuff.

I met Sean and Vinnk at the Midwest Gaming classic in either 2003 or 2004... They seemed like cool guys, but didn't care all that much for PCE....

Meh, the entire show they made was just an advertisement for their shop anyways.
They make a video, and then put the items shown for sale. Most of their episodes
are full of errors and misinformation, simply because they don't care. The whole point
was to appear "hip and cool" so people would buy from them. Money is all they cared
about. Remember when they first joined here? Acted all friendly, but then left as soon
as they had opened their own forums. Typical asshole sellers, should have stuck to ebay

It seems like they really did care when it came to strictly portraying the PC Engine and it's fans negatively.

I just checked and the Angry PC Engine Nerd (and Turbo Booster) video was made after the last blowout here in the forums.

The whole thing is just sad. I remember a lot of people here a couple years ago were spouting how awesome the place was. I used to get on their forums every now and then and check their news thinking "man I am glad I don't buy from here" The whole thing just didn't sit well with me. Now I'm really glad I never ordered from them. I feel sorry for people here that got the shaft from them. At least they're out of business. If they want to keep making shitty videos promoting hate for all things turbo/pce who give's a shit. It makes them look more like ass hats.
