The 3DS!

I love playing my GB/GBC/GBA games through the Gamecube. The games look sooo much better and I can actually see what's going on. I love being able to play on the go, but if it was up to me, every mobile device would be able to output to a TV when you want to play at home.

Yeah, I love the ability to output to a tv, that's a no brainer. I hope the PSV can do this....not sure how they'd get the 3DS to do it. With the DS...maybe it'd be possible with the Wii U somehow??

Since PSP can already output to a TV, I would be shocked if Vita couldn't do the same.

Sony has already confirmed that the launch unit won't have video out, but they haven't ruled it out on later revisions.

I totally agree with ParanoiaDragon. I know that the big bucks are in casual games these days but saying that Android & iOS titles are competing with Sony & Nintendo titles is kinda like saying that big budget FPSes and WRPGs on the PC are competing with crapy online flash games. On some level they are, but I don't believe their audiences overlap very much.

Yep, games that are downloadable on WiiWare or the DSIstore compete with games on IOS or Android. Retail released 3DS and Vita games are created on an entirely different scale right now, than downloadable games for smart phones.

Are they competition, sure. But it's not exactly the same target audience for their core business. It's like asking if smart phones compete with PCs, in theory they do. They can offer many of the some functions as a PC. But two different core markets and different design goals.

The 3DS is available at Walmart for $169.99 now, and you are still an ambassador if you get it before the 12th. Awesome deal if you ask me, especially with the Christmas season coming up.

I have been so frustrated so far with the 3DS line-up. even up until now its pathetic. Just a bunch re-hashed crap and re-release has been's. I do like the zelda 3ds however its my 3rd time going through it now. Nintendo has lost their ever lovin minds. with this current way they are runnin things over there they should be finished sometime soon. People will start to say "hey Ive played this 10 or 20 years ago" Most have already started to notice

It's early on, the original DS had a terrible launch lineup. The 3DS hasn't even gone through it's first holiday season yet. Give it some time and the lineup will fill out.

Super Mario Land came out when the original Game Boy did, not a bad game, but no Killer App. Yes, the Game Boy came with Tetris but Tetris had been out on PCs and NES by that point. Not new either. But by no means a powerhouse. The Game Boy Color had practically little to offer at launch but colorized versions of GB games. The GBA didn't have much but remakes at its start (Super Mario Advance aka Mario 2 USA for example). And the original DS's brightest early window game was a remake of Mario 64. Don't even get me started on the Virtual Boy.

Nintendo has never launched handhelds with brand new killer apps.

I don't think a game necessarily has to be completely new to be a killer ap. Tetris lent itself extremely well to a portable system, and the fact that you could go head to head, unlike the standard NES version, made it a social thing where kids would be able to play against each other at recess or whatever.

I'm not arguing. But it wasn't like Nintendo was publishing triple A titles exclusively for handhelds at their launch. That was more my observation.

I work at a game store, i know 2 people who've got a 3ds, and we've sold a grand total of 6 systems since launch, 4 of which came after the price drop.

I got 2 at launch and enjoy playing it. 1 for me and one for my wife. 5 games i did get for them was Street Fighter, Ridge Racer and Bust a Move at launch. Since i picked up OoT and Star Fox. Also got 10 of the 20 free games so far for being an ambassitor. Looking forward to picking up more games before Xmas.

Besides having shitty games at launch i enjoy playing my 3DS.

Kid Icarus was suppose to be a lauch game but its been getting pushed back, I'm all for a game getting pushed back if its for the good of the game. Yea it sucks but it should be worth the wait.

It's the original Twinbee. The graphics look similar to the NES version, but I think there are some minor differences. The 3D effect work quite well.

It's straight up filler. Costs significantly less to produce than a new game and helps feed the industry till the companies get off their arses and produce new titles. The bottom line, dude. Always the bottom line.

I agree with stop making remakes, I can see making Star Fox 64 3D but you should have released it with a NEW Star Fox game.

OoT I understand remaking cause its 25 year Zeldas been out. And they did include the Master quest and a Boss Battle. But in the end it all come down to the game developers not having thegames ready at launch.

Still looking forward to New Mario, Mario Kart, Res Evil, Kid Icarus, Animal Crossing, Luigis Manson 2, Paper Mario, Metal Gear Solid, Also Smash Bros. Games are coming just hope I have the money to pick everything up.

Actually, come to think of it, the only 2 games that stand out in my mind that I would want to get for 3DS, are both remakes. One is Cave Story. I would've bought it on the Wii, but, I want a physical copy of the damn game! The other is Final Fantasy VII Before Crisis, (which may or may not be made for the 3DS) which is a remake of a japanese only cell phone game.

KI always equals Killer Instinct to me... and although you prefaced KI by naming Kid Icarus, it still made me think about how rad a 3DS Killer Instinct would be.

I think Kid Icarus is taking longer than expected because early playable builds made people say "meh," so they had a lotta retinkering to do.

nano assault looks real cool. and its the only shmup on the console. I got my 3DS a few weeks ago and haven't played it to much yet. I got the zelda bundle, but im currently playing skyward sword so yeah not gunna play OoT at the same time. I should be getting mario kart for xmas, and i hear the online is great, and no snaking, so i will play the hell out of that. As for smash bros, if it has good online play i will play it.

The only difference is Nintendos been around since the 80s. So when they make another Zelda game people are like ANOTHER ZELDA GAME CMON NINTENDO GIVE U SOMETHING NEW. Then they go back to Playing another Final Fantasy or COD game. You can't sit there and say Ninendo Reskins shit and not call Out Halo, or God of War, Res Evil etc.

Melee and Brawl are basically the same game.

Metroid Prime should have stopped at 1.

The Zelda games stopped being good after LttP. They all play the same, and that is fine. The problem is, they suck.

It's unfair to say we can't say these things because every COD is the same too, considering this is a thread about the 3DS, and Nintendo.

Bonk 1, 2, and 3 are all basically the same, and I love them.

Hell, one of my favorite things to do is watch straight to video slasher movies from the 1980s... talk about the same.

I don't care if something is very similar to its predecessor, as long as it is good.

Regarding the 3DS, I can't wait until the Circle Pad Pro comes out. My hands are too big for that thing, I love the original fat DS, and this add-on looks like an awesome fix.
