@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

One Ported Game?

Yup, if you could have one game ported to the Turbo/PCE, realistically, which would it be? When I mean realistically, you know what I mean. Please no crazyness of seeing the Turbografx/PCE running Resident Evil 5 or some other nonsense.

The only other rule I have here, this has to be a port to the Hu Card, no CD's. Make it a little harder for you.

Mine has to be Megaman 3. I always wanted to see what that game would have been like on the Turbografx 16. I remember reading in one of the game mags when I was a kid too how some people swore the game was 16 bit because of how the game looked. I know it was weird, but I actually found myself hoping the game would release. It didn't, of course, but man, I would have ate it up.
END OF LINE.

Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

It would probably need a *little* bit of finagling but I would vote for Gemcraft: http://armorgames.com/play/1716/gemcraft

or a 2D version of Defense Grid. (oops, just one)

I love me some tower defense games.

Id rather have exclusive games on a system than being twisted in each other way to accommodate hardwares but being on topic..... I would say...

Bionic Commando.. my fav game for NES and would be badass on a 16-Bit sys. (MegaMan and Duck Tales were nice picks too)

Why not :P  We used to play the crap out of it 4 player on the Atari 800.  Except for the 5 minutes it took to load it from a floppy disk, it was great fun.  Oh and screw the NES port.  Its got a fatal flaw on the auctions.

I don't know if it's the derpy intro that sounds AWFUL on the Atari (its all out of tune), or the fact that the games kind of boring.  lol.  I just don't think it's worthy of Turbob.

I'd pee myself too..  Possibly # 2 as well!  That would be an awesome port...But is it even possible?

Arkhan Asylum

well technically, Secret of Mana is #2

oh wait you meant THAT #2, lol nevermind.

It's possible to put it on PCE for sure.

The only rough patch would be the mode 7 flying/cannonball stuff since we don't have that natively.  You can do it, but... yeah.

itll be rough.

Bonknuts (Tom)'s Contra isn't a port though.  It's an emulation.

Removing CD from the equation eliminates half the reason I would want something on PCE in the first place. %90 of what can be done on PCE with only a HuCard can be done just as well or better on SNES or Genesis.

So um...I guess I would have to say Victory Road, with special pack-in controller. In reality if this were made it probably would have been all fucked up, stages would be cut, shops would be inserted, but I guess I'm wishing for the sort of thing that was nearly arcade perfect.

Redbook and ADPCM are all that matters?

Well, that & Ys 5(changing it to the bump system, or atleast a hack n' slash system more like the Ark/Oath/Origin games) would be great, & are doable, there are just things that would have to be done differently colorwise, etc., but they can be done says I.

If music were all that mattered I'd just have a CD player instead of a Duo. Obviously they are not "all that matters".

I suppose that what you were getting at is that everything a CD can do a HuCard can do providing the HuCard is big enough, and therefore I guess I guess some clarification is needed for this fantasy. In the real world SNES and Genesis carts eventually exceeded the size of even the largest HuCard on a regular basis. The largest SNES cart is literally double the size of the largest HuCard. So while Dracula X with shitty music and no other downside is technically possible on a HuCard, it never would have happened. Most of them are 4 or 8 Mb, which makes things like Comic Zone, Clay Fighter, Phantasy Star IV, etc impossible without a NES-grade conversion.

By the time the SNES and Genesis were going strong the main draw of the PCE was CD. The SNES was better at everything that didn't need clock speed, and the Genesis killed them both in that territory. When I think of "dream ports" I think of things like "A CD version of Final Fantasy, Seiken Densetsu, Super Robot Wars, etc" not "Something like Game X but with no scaling and lower spec music".

If we are talking about unlimited cart size, something that would have cost hundreds of dollars in cart manufaturing alone in the early 90s, then I guess I'll take Pulstar or Marvel Super Heroes versus Street Fighter.

On a more realistic note, I guess I would like to have seen some good arcade ports of games that only showed up as crappy NES hack jobs, Rygar, the first two Ikari games, Ninja Gaiden, Turtles.

What I really want though? A LDROM2 version of Dragon's Lair 1&2. Big time. :)

A Contra game would be awesome, but I wouldn't want just a port. I'd want a new Contra entry. So for a port, I'd have to go with Crystalis. The PCE would add a lot of graphical shine, and the tunes would get a boost as well. The gameplay is already pretty awesome and the game is long enough to keep folks busy for a while.
