I understand the sentiment, but there is plenty of good metal being made and appreciated "now" by the same sort of pimply fat D&D nerds that made/loved it in the 80s. All Metallica did was steal its limelight.

Stratovarious, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Iron Maiden, and, yeah, Dragonforce. These dudes are still with and a rocking our asses off. It isn't a "then versus now" thing.

Holy SHIT those guys are pathetic. Dude driving around in a rat rod so clean you can eat off it. Flip flops. TERRIBLE lyrics. All sniffling and crying about total bullshit. Those guys are about as metal as the latest DDR game on Wii. Fucking HELL they are lame.
