Not giving the new guys a chance or even the time of day. Well cept blue he is the coolest. I do wish for prices like you all talk about would be nice, great ect. we all use ebay, but often cant/wont buy the games we want on ebay, due to price.
we have no issue with ebay auctions that start low, just dont try to justify charging huge prices for stuff just because its turbo/PCE related

I can't fault members for being apprehensive to trade or sell hard to find stuff, particularly to someone who has less than 10 posts. I've got my own WTB thread and I think it's pretty well known that I'll pay high prices for games. I've been here for a few years, have several hundred posts and I haven't received any offers for the games I'm seeking in that thread. I have, however, found some of the games I was looking for by monitoring the for sale threads here. I'm in no way offended by that, and I continue to respect the community.

The choice is obviously up to you, but I think if you made an effort to contribute to the forum beyond buying stuff you'll probably find that people are much more accepting. Like I said, try establishing yourself by conversing about the system itself. Why do you love it? When did you start playing it? etc

Well, I don't know what to tell you. Yeah, there's a stigma against paying high prices on ebay. I won't lie though, I've done so several times and I've had it out with other forum members over that. I don't think any of them are assholes though. Their concerns are valid and I still respect them even if we don't see eye to eye on everything.

They havent shown they can be trusted. Im sure alot of people on here would buy or trade with noobs but how do we know someone with 1 post and its a sell or buy post is here to be apart of this forum for years to come and not just here to complete a set or worse buy cheap games to resell on ebay. Yes it has happened in the past.

I really dont respond to peoples WTB threads ONLY because if you keep your eyes open on here you can find your games. talk to people and get to know them and they will keep eyes peeled for you on games you need.

Also most noobs like to bash people from the start, Everyone ive got stuff off all have been awesome and it makes me wanna give back in big ways. What most noobs fail to do is introduce themselfs on here before asking for games. Alot of us are wary about scam artists on here looking to be a fake friend and BAM leave then we see the game we sold them on ebay for $300 when we sold it for $50.

The reason people jump on resellers on here is they cant be trusted to buy and sell from. I know when i make a trade or sell/raffle i want the game to go to someone thats gonna enjoy the fuck out of it and HOPEFULLY when they get bored or move on offer it to the forums first.

Edit: And well, yes, there is a bit of an anti-ebay thing going on here. But for good reason. eBay gauging isn't limited to just TG16/PCE stuff, of course, but that's what we can fight off here. If you've read threads where you feel someone has treated another member unfairly in relation to this, we could use some links to that so that we can evaluate this better.

And while some of us might be hating on eBay, it would be foolish of us not to take advantage of it as well. Not everything is insultingly overpriced and there are deals to be had. It's a kind of love-hate relationship. I'm sure you understand?

I can't be bothered to read through this whole thread to see if it's already been pointed out, just as it seems you couldn't be bothered to read much of the discussion you're criticizing.

But as often happens with people calling gouging-haters delusional/crazy/etc, you completely missed what was actually being said: that the prices we are talking about are happening, both on and off eBay. That's what makes the occasional ludicrous selling prices so ludicrous. Even in spite of market manipulation, Turbo/PCE games still manage to regularly sell cheap. The underlying problem that the people you're criticizing have been pointing out, is too many people like you are not only oblivious to this, but seem to ignore when it is spelled out to you.

I agree that some people are too rough on newer members and that the board is too negative in general. But that is a separate issue.

as for prices if you get a ton for what your selling congrats, but dont act like your untitled to the high sell prices.
often we have raffles on games that people actually want.
wanted threads are often ignored, as they are often asking for things that others wont give up.
if you want to buy or barter watch the sales threads and make offers on what you want.

That one game I really want might come by and who know what they will need. Been in this two horse town for about 15 years now, lol nobody here has ever heard of tg16 let alone a pc engine. So I just kept on holding onto them. Never know might find someone or a group who is willing to trade. So actually dont think I am entitled to anything, not to mention on my original post I really did specify everything was for trade only. I have never even sold one item on ebay, of any kind,if you can believe that .

just when a noob gets ripped into here its either they start in on others here or they take an entitlement stance on sales.
were mostly a gaming community here. (we play our systems/games)
a few of us do repairs and modifications.
we share system issues and fixes.
sometimes one of us will get a large lot buy and sell it off here piecemeal, or just sell off the duplicates.
often the prices are kept reasonable or even raffled off free.

Hmm you are surprised when someone puts up a negative post after receiving one? Really? The point of that being who exactly do you figure you are to pick and choose who should join your boards and who should not? We rag on the resellers that sell on ebay for crazy prices cause if we didnt then the new people coming and getting into the TG16/PC Engine would think thats the going rate for those games.
