Now seriously most of the gouging complaints seem legit to me. It is mostly members venting a bit about how a listing is $399 and sometimes 2 listings below you can see it roll for $50 dollars.
my problem with the whole gauging thing is beginners (and up until recently I knew jack about prices) get screwed beyond belief. If anything the forum can be a good tool for a begginer to find out various and fair price points.

I was only being half serious here. As for why I repeat my sentiment regarding US games being stupid, well, its usually in response to another thread with the same subject matter. There is a LOT of repetition here, as we all know. When some noob shows up and asks why such and such a game is so expensive for the millionth time, I will, for the millionth time, tell him to either shut up and pay it, or buy the superior JP release for 1/4th the money. Its a boring but valuable service, IMO. There are a lot of people that genuinely don't know that you don't have to pay $100 for Bomberman '93.

No, that's still not it. The usual friction on these forums isn't due to noobs, rude or otherwise, it's the divide between gamers, collectors, and dealers (there are also engineers and programmers, but they get along with everyone). Most of us wear multiple hats, but it just so happens that the noobs these days are heavy on the collector/dealer side of the spectrum.
