So I was just wondering. the prices of this f-ing game are kind of the high scale on ebay. If i were to be patient enough what price range do you guys think this guy might pop up for?

When Working Designs went out of business there were a fair number of NOS copies floating around. Those seem to have dried up a bit. 60.00 -75.00 seems reasonable if you can find a complete copy going in that range.

Dude, I have a loose copy, just the CD.

you want it on the cheaplers?
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

bartre

i got lucky and got mine CIB for $45 off amazon, other than that though, mid $60 seems about right over the past while.

Man, back in the early 2000s those figures were plugging up bargin bins in conventions all over the world and couldn't sell at $1 each because everyone had them. I think Sega made them, and they evidently made about nine billion of the fuckers.

As for this game, you'd think it would be hugely expensive. If any US Saturn game should be worth anything it should be this an Azel. The JP version is about 50 yen, but language is everything when it comes to an RPG.

This game isn't really an RPG, it's more of a super linear Secret of Mana style game. Most of the figuring out in the game isn't language based.

I have only played the English version, but it should be easy for anyone to play through in Japanese.

Yeah, but it's not actually that good! :) Therefore, it just existing as a Japanese-y Saturn game translated makes it apealing. If people wanted to trudge through JP launch era quasi-RPG Saturn games they could pick from any number of things.

Especially the WTF end-level stuff

it was actually alright.  had some really nice music, graphics were nicely drawn, lots of anime cut scenes but very small and pixellated..

The final boss battle became a shmup game and after I beat it I had no intention of replaying it.  Gameplay lasted about around 20+ hours if I recall correctly.

They also fixed a lot of slowdown and flicker from the Japanese version. I picked this up when it came out in the US in December 1998 and I recall it being a great game. Great music, fun action RPG gameplay, and just an aesthetically glorious looking 2D masterpiece. It also had a very good localization, even by Working Designs already high standards.

I haven't played the game since I first bought it at EB, but I still to this day remember the one line in the game "She can toss my salad any day."  and laugh to myself.  Ah, working designs and their localizations. :)
