It reminds you of Ruination & Targetmaster toys?  Not sure about the Targetmasters, but I know Bruticus/Ruination went thru a few remolds, mainly IIRC with Blast Off's nosecone.  I know that Aron Archer(head of TF's at Hasbro) has said there are molds that have been lost or damaged.  Off the top of my head, I recall Sunstreaker, Mirage, & the Constructicons, though, like you, I agree, they could easily make new molds, to re-issue them, & it'd be worth it as far as I'm concerned :D  I know I really want all the Season 1 & 2 cars at the very least.  And there's still several, atleast in America, that haven't been released.  I could pick up a japanese Hound, which I've always wanted since I was a kid   I think that's the only one I'm missing, that's been released as a re-issue, wait, no I think there were re-issue's of Ironhide, Ratchet, & Trailbreaker in Japan only.  Plus there's Ramjet & Thrust that the US still hasn't gotten.

Now that I'm thinking about it, maybe I heard that Soundwave's mold was damaged, but thanks to the remold of Soundblaster, they were able to repair it.  Oh, & Blaster was actually known as Broadcast in Japan, IIRC.  And then later, Twincast.  And I like Blaster.....mainly cuz of the show though.

Yea,Targetmasters because they had to change up the mold in the slightest to hold the weapons, and for most of the good Targetmasters, all they were was remarkets of old toys again.
I think e-hobbie offers Hound in a desert color. You may want to check on that. Mirage would be nice to see again, although I got to tell you,Sunstreaker looks cool up untill the point you transform him, then he turns to suck real fast.

I'm dying to pick up a Soundwave.  Is it still possible to pick up a Toys r us reissue at retail price?
What a horrible night to have a curse...

PCEngineHell

Yes,seems so,just go to toys r us webpage, and order one off there. Youll prob need  a credit or debt card.

cavein2000

I can't find the link to purchase the soundwave at TRU. I looked around and it seems that some preorders were cancelled?  Anywhere else I can grab one of these, or is there a Takara version or other version that is comparable that I could pick up for cheaper than 50 bucks?

It's probably too late to bring up the original topic again (fascinating as all this transformers talk is) but I collect D&D books. And other pen&paper rpg books. i even have a group to play them with (nearly) every weekend.

i have a bunch of 2nd edition, 3rd edition, and 3.5 edition Dungeons and Dragons books; the Players handbook, Dungeon Master's guide, and Monster Manual for each, plus quite a few others i dare not count. I also have a few Alternity and Shadowrun books (never played :( ) and d20 modern stuff. But mostly D&D.

ParanoiaDragon

When it comes to Soundwave, his release got pushed back, but I hear, he recently hit China, so that should mean he's a month away, maybe sooner, maybe later.  But if you have a Toys R Us nearby, I suggest in the next month, to start keeping your eyes open there in the TF section.  You can check the All Spark for toy sighting.  Here's the official thread, though obviously, there's no sightings yet

rock'n!!  Another D&D nerd!  I collect pretty much anything Pencil & Paper RPG that I can find.  from AD&D to Vampire.  Lots of White Wolf!  Got a bookshelf full.  We gather about once or twice a month to game.

Also like to collect Manga.  My Fav' is MegaTokyo- Which is an american WebComic/Manga from Fred Galligher.

Yea- thats me.

Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

Ahhh, transformers. A couple of years ago I bought 3 big boxes of Transformers and Gobots from the local swap-meet for $20. A lot of the transformers were in near mint conditions w/ stiff joints. I ended up selling most of them on ebay. I had all the dinobots with their weapons on ebay for not more than 10 minutes before someone used the "by now" button for $100. I should have put them on for more. I sold most of the rest of them, but I kept the 4 cassatte tapes to soundwave I had left. I have still have a bunch of near mint Gobots, but they don't seem to be worth anything.

guyjin

As far as what I collect, mainly DVDs and CDs, old toy home keyboards, and DRUM MACHINE SAMPLES! Shit, I have like, 1307 drum machine samples, and no actual drum machine! XD
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.
THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS RULE!

rag-time4

As far as fun'n games go, I used to be really into Magic: The Gathering cards (still have them all) as well as Heroclix. i don't see my friends much anymore so I never play but I still have all my stuff.

I also have collected Steve McQueen's movies on DVD. I have just about all of his movies that have been released.

I'm also really into old rag-time and jazz music. I think I have all of Jelly Roll Morton's music that's available on CD.

Nice necropost kitsune!

Still when ya get "older and your taste change and keeping it...even as a collector's item didn't seem much to me at the time.

Btw i still have my collection of robotech toys still.

Any particular kind of record?

My older brother collects records as well, but it's all heavy metal music. Thanks to him, I know much more than I ever wanted to.

That is too damn fresh seeing the Inhumanoids.  I loved those toys.

I collect David Lynch DVDs- I have all of them- even the ones you can't buy in stores.

I was collecting action figures for awhile, like streetfighter2 sota and Akira. I was also buying a lot of manga books. I was heavily into Initial D for awhile, haha. I mainly just buy games now though.
