2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Love the Ys Shrine!  Surely you have Yuzo Koshiro himself chained to one of the bookshelves in your room.  I want to see a picture of it!  Have you added Ryo Yonemitsu to your collection yet?

VestCunt

What?!?  No box for the turbografx Ys Book 1-2???

I'm a cunt, always was. Topic Adjourned.

Very nice! :D Looks like you have most of the Ys manga books too, which is very cool (they seem to be rather hard to get ahold of). I only have the original series of seven books, as well as the first Ys 5 based one.

I definitely recommend getting one of the computer releases of Ys 1 (PC-88, 98, MSX, X-1, etc), as they are absolutely beautiful, and the manual is really interesting too. :)
Quote from: Seldane on 04/21/2007, 07:28 PMDVDs are for suckers. Illegally pirated and stolen videos all the way. No menus. No "DO NOT PIRATE THIS!" screens. No fuss. Only perfection. I honestly only pirate movies because that "don't pirate this" screen annoys me.

Indeed, it's AV time. Check out: IMG! Sir, the door was open.

Quote from: Tron on 05/24/2007, 10:09 PMDamn you must be realy into the serise to have that much Ys stuff.

I myself don't have much, a few sound tracks guide book beside Ys 1-4 for my duo.

Btw i don't supose you be interested in a Ys III poster.

It's for the remake that, Taito did on the PS2 i've been trying to sell it no takers so far.
I really only like Ys I - III and PCE Ys IV. I don't have much interest in the 3D stuff.

I would be interested in that poster if the price is right(even though I hate that version).  :)

Although I like Ys I's music, I'm not a fan of Yuzo or any other gaming celebrity for that matter. Other than that host of Game Time.

As soon as I moved to the big city, my dad threw it out, along with dozens of other Turbo boxes and cases as well as boxes of all the hardware and every EGM & GamePro up to 1997.  :(
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

The main reason I have so many of the manga's is that they pretty much all came in a single cheap lot.

I've been looking for any of those Ys I's, but can never find them. Other than some guy in the U.K. who who once want like $150 for one.

I keep my all my games in plastic tote cases.  Its a good way to keep them packed away from harm from my kids...lol

I usually have them organized by type first -(SCD,ACD,CD,Chip) and then type of games.  Y's IV is next to Dragon Slayer which is next to Dungeon Explorer II, Beyond Shadowgate is next to Loom, etc...etc...

thats about it...

I have the map that came with Ys 1&2.  It is so incredibly useful!  It aided me greatly in beating the game.  I have some thumbtacks... should I hang it on my wall?  Or should I scotch tape the corners?  PROTIP:  The map is even compatible with the SMS version of Ys!!!!!!

Seldane

I have the map too- I usually just look at that rather than the TV when I play the game.

I tape my map to the TV screen because it's so useful!
Quote from: TurboXray on 01/02/2014, 09:21 PMAdding PCE console specific layer on top of that, makes for an interesting challenge (no, not a reference to Ys II).

My (Canadian) Ys I & II never came with a map back in the day.  :(

That is because Canada was being punished at the time.
