I've been on a BIG Bomberman kick ALL DAY yesterday. He's a cute lil' guy, ain't he? XD Except in that atrocious Bomberman Act Zero of course. Anyway, I have a strong urge to get alot of Bomberman games. I wish I could find a copy of Bomberman '93 that was inexpensive!!! Grrrrrr...... I also wanna get a copy of the Saturn Bomberman game, but forget it! It's going for like 75 bucks! That's a big rip off! And I wanna get Bomberman Generation for the Gamecube and one of those GBA Bomberman Games. Been on a big Bomberman kick all day yesterday. Plus he's so friggin' cute!!! XD

You can buy Saturn Bomberman and a japanese Saturn system for under $75.

Yeah, I guess I will have to get a japanese copy of the game, because it looks like I don't have a choice. :( I don't need a japanese system BTW, I have an Action Replay cart. :)

They always do that man, take cute characters and cool characters and totally ruin them.

Bomberman is honestly one of my fave game characters ever, if not my favorite. The games are awesome and the music simply rules.

Agreed. Bomberman has gotten awfully skinny over the years and I think his eyes have grown even larger... perhaps he got into cocaine after the peak of his career?

You need to learn to buy imports. Bomberman '93 is nice, but '94 is better (IMO), and goes for $15 or less as a PC Engine release.

The same with Saturn Bomberman US. The JP version is probably $12 or so, and has much more ridiculous voices.

These are the two best Bomberman games, by the way.

I prefer '94, as it's a whole year better..... err, maybe it's the kangaroos.  If you really want a US '93, keep your eyes open and be patient.  As long as you don't sprout wood for complete versions, then you should be able to pick one up for $35 or so.

We already had this discussion in another thread and I have decided that Bomberman '93 is the best Bomberman game out there. Since people call me Big Mother Brain, it seems like the right choice.

For the Turbo, '94 is best, although '93 curiously has better music. But the level layout and gameplay in '93 doesn't even compare to '94.

I've had a lot of fun with the Dreamcast Bomberman, also.

regarding 1P bomberman,  the '94 is maybe the better one, since it offers more complex stages and secrets etc. but i never really went into the fun of playing BM alone.

for the multi-P BM, the '93 ist the ultimate one. here some reasons for:

1. same driving and best ever made BGM in any BMs, taken over from part 1.
2. very balanced with the items (not to much, not to less). the biggest improvement from the 1st BM was the bomb-kicker. this is the most tactical and important item, right after the flame-power.
3. not playing around with some unnecessary falderal nonsense > be simple but efficient is one of BMs most important attributes.
4. and last but not least, its much better and more cute "pause"-picture.

Saturn Bomberman or Super Bomberman (SNES)are my all time favs.  with '94 coming in close behind....

And I love Bomberman '93 too!  Matter of fact I love all bomberman games!!  not too much of a fan of the new Cell shaded stuff, but they're ok.

I remember this thread a while back where I mentioned that I liked Super Bomberman for the SNES and most people were appauled at the thought of me liking that version over the TurboGrafx versions....

It's decent, pretty much typical Bomberman from what I recall. The best part of the game is when you win and the voice says WEINER!

@ gujin, nat, & Black_Tiger: I haven't played Hi-Ten either, but based on the what's on the net, it looks like it is superior to Saturn's ten player mode.  Hi-Ten is better looking, has more than one map, and has the little one way arrows, yet I suppose that this is all academic and only makes Hi-Ten technically superior, as there's something to be said for attainability.

@ Digi.K: Cute Bomberman toys.  Was the candy pop rocks or some similar explosive?  :)
