Anyone seen one of these before? Coolest looking pirate console that I've laid eyes on. It has a built-in joystick and it plays famicom and megadrive games too.

24-bit, hahaha. Yeah right.

guyjin

what an odd combination. The MD and FC don't share much common hardware; a combination would seem wasteful.

I'd think a pirate neo geo/genesis combos would make more sense, but pirateers don't seem interested in the neo.

Sure...if you add the 8-bit 6502 clone with the 16-bit Motorola 68000...hey look, 24 bits! :D

It's actually 32-bit.

8+8+16

(There have to be at least 3 processors in that clone: 6502, Z-80, 68000)

That's kinda cool, but it's likely a famicom-on-a-chip plus a megadrive-on-a-chip rather than a full blown hardware clone.  I'll bet that it has limited compatibility and looks, sounds, and/or controls like shit.

That's called SNK (or Jaguar) logic.

Huh?  They marketed it as 32 bit and it had a 32 bit processor, didn't it?  :-k

I thought it had two 16-bit processors  :-k

That's what I was thinking, Missa, except for the four color thing.  I don't know what they mean, 'cause the LED's have two settings: red and off.

actually, the LEDs have 3 shades of red (bright, not so bright, dim) and off.

I also find it interesting that the FX and the VB have the same processor. I wonder if a VB emulator could be made for the FX...

I don't want to sidetrack the thread any more, but personally I only play V-boy games on the console itself.  I don't know how any emulator could give you the sense of 3-d, which is the only reason I ever play it.  I did find it interesting though that the V-boy has a NEC processor.  Be glad NEC didn't make the system itself and decided to call it the Virtual Grafx or something.  I do with the V-boy had more vector games like the unfinished f-zero game.  I love red alarm a lot!  The Wario platformer is really interesting, I recently saw a Mario game on the Wii or a DS (I forget which) in a store and the way the game was designed, it totally reminded me of Warioland.  The boxing game is hard as hell, but very fun still too.  Too bad V-Tetris sucks :(  How is a 2-d tube 3-d?
