I tried to make a point, obviously you don't really understand what I'm saying and think that any sort of dark side in sexuality, is comparable to this stuff. Best leave it.

Of course I get what you're saying. You're casting a "blame it" light (or darkness, really) on sexuality, which makes you sound like a pseudo-militant-feminist. My point was meant to counter the blatant attack by pointing out that you can apply the "blame it" tactic to virtually anything. Also, lest you forget that rape is a crime of hatred, not sexual attraction. I am so sick to death of the stupid negative connotation applied to sexuality that exists in society.

Also, if you think there's no comparison between rape and domestic abuse, then you've never been on the receiving end of either, know absolutely nothing about either, and should probably stfu on the subject.

Dark side shmark side. Such constructs are superficial and society-influenced. A child raped by her father isn't due to sexual attraction but due to mental illness. A woman with rape fantasies isn't "dark", she's having a fantasy about being controlled and used by a man or, in most cases, many men...it's perfectly healthy and natural, and more common than you know. The power trip a person gets when they rape someone has nothing to do with sex...the sexual aspect is just used because it is a weakness...a weakness perpetrated and reinforced by our own society! Want to change it? Change society's thinking on the subject of sex, change society's thinking on women, and change society's thinking on pretty much everything to do with right and wrong. To say that you've seen the impact on your friend's life is moot. If it had happened since she was 2, there's no way you would know what she would have been like without the abuse, all you can do is compare her to others, which doesn't work either because then you start slipping into the usual human laziness method of generalizing everyone. It's only when you know someone very well and then an event happens to them that changes their life...that's the only way you can say with any certainty that you've seen the impact. If this is all the child knows, it's going to be routine for them. It's not right for him to do what he's done (and he should probably be either strung up by his balls or at least committed to a mental institution), but she is still alive and could make something from her life despite the abuse. Only someone who wants to be a victim will play the victim card...I hope your friend isn't like this, I hope she has the sense enough to rise above her past and make something of her life rather than just wallow in self-pity like so many others do. I too was a victim of sexual abuse as a child, but I haven't allowed it to control my life. Too many others do.

You don't have to be female to be a militant feminist. All you have to be is deluded...it's an equal opportunity delusion.

You're right...this is probably a subject best left alone. But, I can try to explain the rape fantasy for you so it will help you understand it more...I'm not the best with descriptions so bear with me.

The whole idea behind rape fantasy is that the woman who is having the fantasy is absolutely powerless against the person or people who are assaulting her. Becoming an unwilling slut at the mercy of others, basically. These women are completely thrilled by the fact that someone is using them in a sexual way and there's absolutely nothing they can do about it. As you can probably tell, it's a fantasy based on powerlessness...which, in turn, actually suggests that rape itself is an act of control and power. The fantasy would be useless without the sexual part, of course...no woman would be turned on by being powerless in a job situation, for example. Some women are just the opposite...they are thrilled by the prospect of having complete control and power over a person or even many people. But as double standards go, no one would think twice about this as some kind of "problem"...actually, they'd probably say "wow that woman is so strong! bravo!".

Rape fantasy and "no strings attached" sex are completely different. In "no strings attached" sex, both people are of equal say in the matter, and no one expects anything of the other except a chance to get off.

Oh and I should clarify one thing...there's a huge difference between a feminist and a militant feminist. Some people would claim me to be a feminist but I'm not...I'm actually an equalist.
