Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.

Mainly I do PCE, SNES, Dreamcast, Cube, Saturn, Neo Geo Pocket, GBA, DS, and Wonderswan. Recently I got a PS2 so I'm looking into that stuff more. I have a few Famicom carts, and a dozen or so SMS games also, but I'm not serious about them.

Mostly Saturn & DC.

I do have some others that I have stored away or have plans to buy back (Mainly PS1 & 2).

Pc engine/Tg16 at the minute. Megadrive soon! :) And I'm still thinking of buying a neo geo sometime (I have six aes games)..

I have a Jaguar (which is not getting a lot of play at the moment, doesn't have enough 2d games) and a Virtual boy which I need to buy some games for!

:)

Well, Ive been doing turbo goods almost exclusively lately, but in the past I collected SMS, Saturn, and 32X games pretty heavily.

While I have a WSC, NES, SNES, DC, GG, and plain old Genny, I haven't been getting as much for them.

Also, I may be getting into 7800 stuff soon.

quoth09

Just about everything NES onwards.

NES, SNES, Genesis, PCE/Turbo/Supergrafx, Jaguar, N64, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Saturn, Gameboy/GBA, N-gage, X-Box, Old and New PC games, Neo Geo MVS, Sega ST-V, and all other kinds of Arcade boards.

I'm sure I missed something in there, but that is good enough for now. I'm always expanding my collection, and the sale I just had is definitely going to help.

rolins

Mostly MSX games and hardware. I still collect games for the NES and Saturn but not so much these days.

This what I recently bought to expand my MSX2+.

PCEngineHell

I have a Supergrafx with Super Cd Rom2,Saturn,PS1 mini,Megadrive with 32X in my room ect ect.. In the house in general we also have a Wii,GC,Nes,Genesis,2 DS decks. These days I only play the Supergrafx and Saturn stuff. I'm passing my PC-FX along to Nectarsis.

TR0N

Right, now collecting for any consoles beside the pce is famicom+fds and my neogeo mvs.
Any other consoles i have been on the occasional pickup for saturn,dc,ps2,wii,gc and ps1 wich isn't much these days for that.

Right now I'm concentrating on the Duo/PCE; however, there's a Dreamcast in a local pawnshop that no one seems to want and has my name all over it.  8) I just keep spending my money on Duo stuff. lol I have a stash of Xbox games (mostly racing), as well as a stash of GBA games. I guess I'll eventually move up to the DS at some point, and I'd like to get a PSP, but mostly for the PCE/Duo emulator I've been seeing around as of late. So, I guess that's about it.

Oh, I used to have a pretty sweet Atari 2600 collection that all of you would be selling your copies of Sapphire and Rondo for.  :^o

I collect PC-FX stuff, PC-E, 3DO and PS2 games mainly these days.  I don't collect VB stuff, but if there was more than 10 good games I would be collecting VB games as well to this day.

right now just Turbo Grafx and Neo Geo.   I'd like to expand beyond that a little and pick up one or two other 90s machines but for now I've got my hands full with these two.   Turbo I have most of the (US) games already and I love the thing - I enjoy almost all of my games.  Neo Geo (MVS), which I am brand new to,  I'm a little more picky about; mainly because the games seem to be a little more out of reach.   I'd like a Sega Genesis/ CD set up but I could kind of take it or leave it at this moment in time.  Maybe if I found one at a yard sale (very possible I think, too).

Thought I'd list my collections in terms of what I'd class to be large (100+ games), medium (30-99 games) and small (less than 30 games).

Large collections: Sega Master System, NES

Medium collections: PCE, Megadrive, GBA, PS1, PS2, Nokia N-Gage (!)

Small Collections: NGPC, Game Gear, Atari Lynx, Amstrad GX4000 (!), Sega Mega-CD

I'm sure I'll have missed one or two, but that's the general idea.

WoodyXP

MSX(Casio Mini..boxed away)
MSX2(Sony HitBit.. boxed away)
Famicom/FDS/Super Famicom
PC Engine/DUO/GT Handheld
Sega Megadrive/Mega CD
Neo Geo
3DO (boxed away)
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Playstation 3

Damn.. this list just made me realize how much stuff I got rid of.. hahah

The TurboGrafx/TurboExpress/Supergrafx/PCE is my main obsession, followed closely by the SMS.  After that, in order of rank, I have a NES, SNES, and N64, a handful of carts for Genesis and Super Gameboy, and a PS1 in the closest that I got for free and never use.

kungfukid: props for the SMS collection.

Quite a few overall. Though lately I've been focusing on my Neo Geo CD. It's been a very easy and fun system to collect games for.

OldRover

My wife is going to sell her coral Nintendo DS and pick up a Sony PSP. Seems there are a couple of decent traditional RPGs on it, and she wants the Drac X remake.

every single game-playing device that has at least a couple of grand games gracing its goodness.
i've always been in it for the games, rather than the actual hardware that they're played on - so i play and collect whatever box meets that agenda.

Not sure if "collect" is quite the word.  I've got a lot of systems and I buy games/binge when it takes my fancy. :P

That said, aside from my PCEngine/Supergrafx "collection" (the largest), I think my next biggest selection is Dreamcast.  Then I think it goes: Saturn, 3D0, SMS, DS, NeoGeo Pocket Colour, NeoCD, PSP, Genesis/32x/SegaCD, GameCube, Wii, XBox, Neo-Geo MVS, Jaguar + JagCD, PSOne (sold off most of my PSX games with my PS2, then picked up a PSOne + Screen), Game Wave, Virtual Boy, Intellivision, Colecolvision, JAMMA boards, PC-FX, Atari 5200, XBox 360 (just got it on Friday.), Atari 7800.

I think I didn't forget anything.  I never owned a NES, I did have an SNES at one point with a largish collection of games.  I stupidly sold it off years ago, I please temporary insanity.

The more insane thing is that you haven't bought another one!  Seriously, I don't think I've ever known someone to have a decently sized "collection" of systems like you and not have the NES and SNES.

SNKNostalgia

Mostly Neo Geo and SNES games. I have been getting better about buying Genesis games but there are only like 20 of them that I really want and I have 8 of them so far. NES I tend to pick up a few favorites here and there, which is only at 47 carts.

Lately, I have been going wild with the Neo Geo. Picked up Real Bout and Real Bout Special for AES the past 2 weeks. All I need is Real Bout 2 and my main SNK fighter collection is done (AOF, SS, KOF, FF, LB, WH). So far, my AES collection holds at 40 carts. I just really buy the games I know I will play, which the Neo tends to have a good amount of at around 70% of its library. I pretty much have gotten the harder to find or more expensive carts out of the way. The rest is the cheaper and more common games like, Robo Army, Last Resort, 3 Count Bout, Mutation Nation, Savage Reign, Cyberlip, Baseball Stars 2 and other games of that sort.

rainbow_bright

When buying an AES system, try to get one that has a really good cart slot. I highly suggest on at least a S-video mod since the standard composite video of this system is that of a Genesis or worse. The Unibios also is a big plus to get blood in games like Samurai Shodown and also having English text to go with it. Check the Neo Selling Forums for some of the good honest sellers. They should be easy to get a hold of. You can find one modded out reasonably at $250-$300.

The NES just never really was part of my childhood that much.  A friend on mine had one, but I was more into the C=64 and Amiga around that time.  When I sold my SNES, I also had my original Duo at the tail end and concentrated on that.

I do tend to pick up some NES and SNES classics on collections, GBA re-releases, Wii...  My Xbox is modded and I (occasionally) start up the emulators.  I might pick up another SNES sometime.  To be honest, I don't have the time or space for what I already own... :P

OldRover

I would like to pick up an SNES at some point. Playing F-Zero and Zelda LttP on emulators just isn't quite the same as playing on a TV.

Let's see currently hooked up to my TV.

-Atari 2600
-Sega Master System
-Dreamcast
-PC Engine Briefcase CD version
-X Box 360
-Wii

I would say the only stuff I 'collect' for is the PC-E and the SMS. :)

The SMS has a surprisingly strong catalogue of games if you know were to look and buy European releases to make up for the weak US release count. I never had a Gamecube so the Wii's backwards compatibility has me buying a bunch of pretty good cheap games I never got to play. Ditto for the XB360 playing Xbox 1 games although that compatibility sorta sucks being it's only 50%.

Used to have a NES and an SNES but those were lost in a flood with several games.

Also have an N64 that's not hooked up and a PS2 that's broken. My PS1 died years ago but I still play it's games on my computer.

On the US side I think I got everything I wanted.

ApolloBoy

Right now I'm focusing on the Commodore 64 and PC Engine, although I'm still big on the Famicom and Mark III (I started collecting for those two about a couple months ago). I'm also contemplating on kickstarting my Saturn and Dreamcast collections, which I've kinda neglected since I got them a few months back.

Nice Turbo!! I love XBMC. I don't know how I've lived without it. Seriously. Download movies and I don't have to bother burning discs. Watching youtube on the TV is a bonus too. I haven't added a HDD yet, but it'll have to happen. I want to load up on some emulators and whatnot.

If you're going to go the wireless route for XBMC, you'll probably want to skip the SMB file sharing. SMB can be a pain and it can be slow. I definitely recommend ccx stream gui. It's super fast and very stable/reliable.

Oh and let me know of any cool applications and whatever else you're doing with XBMC turbo. :) I'm still pretty noobish at it, but I'm getting familiar with filezilla and all that stuff. I'd also like to see how you make out installing your HDD. That's probably outta my league to do myself, but whatever. I'm willing to buy an extra xbox just to toy around with. :)

Dude, your looking at the King Hippo of N00bs.

I just got mine done 2 weeks ago.  I use almost every XPORT emulator out there right now.  HUGO, XSNES9X, NEOPOP, and NEO GENESIS are my favs- fuck the games look just like you are playing the real thing!!

right now I'm working on getting HUGO to work with the few Turbo CD games I have left.  When I transfered the HUGO emulator to my XBOX from a friends, I never went into the txt files and changed the directories for where it reads the CD-ROM BIOS from.  At least thats what I hope the problem is....
