NEC picked a horrible name in TurboGrafx-16. I see it spelled wrong way more often than right. Even magazines occasionally spelt it wrong back in the day.

It's the worse name for search engines. It's such a pain in the ass search all the variables of the spelling. It can occasionally payoff though.

LOL, this topic is funny, this is the first time I've blatantly heard some say the point of buying an overpriced used game was to have bragging rights to say, "I at least owned it once." As if it's going to give you eternal youth or something. F*ck, people are stupid, and ruin everything. Buy games to play them, not compensate for lack of friends.

Right, I mean I get the collector's mentality, it's why someone pays millions of dollars for a cardboard baseball card that they can do absolutely nothing with, other than put in a case and brag about. It just sucks that these types of people have infected the video game scene. It was once so naive and pure.

Ha! It's true, I think, that the "collectors-ruining-hobby" phenomenon is a function of age...when people couldn't even give away 8-bit/16-bit stuff (PlayStation era), I remember reading a local (NJ) newsletter about the state of Atari consoles/collections and how "rarity" was making the price of some titles skyrocket. "That will never happen with NES," I thought, "...since the supply will always be much bigger than the demand." How foolish I was! Once the NES generation grew up, we started doing the same damn thing as our forefathers: pay too much $$$ for collecting sh*t.

I know I'm Captain Obvious but it does feel good to vent.
