20GB PS3 Gets Whacked

The 'cheap' PS3 has entered the clearing at the end of the path. No big surprise - who'd want a PS3 with a smaller drive, no wi-fi, and no sexy ass chrome? Has any versions of other consoles ever had such a short life span?

I read about this. If they don't drop the 60gb version down in price after this, I think it's a pretty stupid move. That way people are forced to spend extra on the higher end model.

I think its because microsoft is releasing a monster 120 gig hdd 360 with a sweet black case, or is that just a rumor?

Not surprised. That particular version didn't even get released in Europe in the first place. It was a pretty useless model and nobody bought it. A good move.

Sony is also supposedly removing the emotion engine that plays psx and ps2 games and replacing it with an emulator. I think that europe is only getting the new emulator equiped ps3, which is better anyways.

That is correct, the PS2 CPUs are not part of the PAL PS3 models, but I guess that doesn't really matter, as they'll abandon that hardware in the systems that does have it in future firmware updates.

Well there's go's the idea that i'll be getting a PS3 any time soon.

Realy sony keeps shooting there own foot in the gaming industry as of late.

Mean while the 360 looks more temping to me by every minute.

Heck MS all ready stole DMC4 from Sony

Only mexicans like Chrome, I wish they'd get rid of that tacky shit. I absolutely HATE the chrome tray on my 360, I need to swap DVD doors with a core system eventually.

Chrome trim is definitely tacky. People from the future will look back on our PS3's and say "Oh my gawd how 00's!" It's like looking back at the 70's with all of their tacky crap. Only traitors and terrorists like and approve of chrome trim.

Personally, I couldn't give two shits about Wi-Fi. Does the $600 PS3 even have an ethernet port? If not, I'd much prefer the $500 one.

I love 70s stereo equipment, it looks so cool and some of it sounds so much better than shit today even though it's old. A friend of mine had a nice pair of 70s speakers and a reciever he found and goodwill that sounded amazing.

Keranu what do you think of movies that are shot digitally (Star Wars Episodes 2 and 3, Sin City, Superman Returns, the first half of Grindhouse, etc)? How about projected digitally? They are trying to phase out real film, unfortunately.
