@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Just bought a copy of Fray CD, I heard its similar to Kiki Kaikai which I loved on the SFC.
I've been meaning to get it for a while, been interested since reading this review a while back

So apparently it has some RPG elements to it, does anyone know how difficult it is to get through without being able to read Japanese?

It's the most playable game from the Xak series.  Almost plays like Legend of Valkyrie, but you're right--there are some dialogues in towns that will cause some confusion.  I was able to muddle through it though.  Beautiful sprites.  Bubblegum poptastic and good fun.  Enjoy.

I beat the Japanese MSX one, and then the english one.  Its a great game.  Really comical.  Its a vertical shooty game, with towns in between.

WHered you nab a copy of the PCE CD One? :)   I can never find it. How much was it
This "max-level forum psycho" () destroyed TWO PC Engine groups in rage: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook "Because Chris 'Shadowland' Runyon!," then the other by Aaron Nanto "Because Le NightWolve!" Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together... Both times he blamed the Aarons in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

I bought it in the Play-Asia sale complete with spinecard for $39.90, not dirt cheap but reasonable https://www.pcengine-fx.com/forums/index.php?topic=6994.0

You shouldn't need a walk-thru for Fray.  If you cant get thru the action-levels just by playing them, you might be a retard and in need of a helmet. :)

when you play it post up some videos!  I want to hear how the music compares to MSX FM music.  Microcabins FM tunes are badass

oh...! there are some from britain.  they're pretty damn pricey though ...

MrFulci gave me enough tips here to get me past my only sticking point, and if I can get through, anyone can.

I have it on PC Engine Super CD and I have played it once or twice.  Fortunately I got it for cheap.  In one part you walk forward and shoot things like Tinkle Tale for the Mega Drive except much more cutesy and you only scroll up.  Then after that you wander around a town and everyone speaks moon language and you're like "WTF???" and then somehow you are able to make it to the next cutesy action stage.
