Howdy-

About 2 years ago, I responded to a Craigslist ad for a NOS Turbo Express with the capacitors replaced by a TZD/TTi technician, as well as a pile of Turbo Chips.

I bought the lot.  Turns out that this was some of the remaining inventory of TZD/TTi, being sold by Steve Garwood himself, the former owner of TZD & former director of sales of TTi.  The Turbo Chips were ones used by game testers at TTi!

He shipped the Turbo Chips in a keen Turbo Grafx 3-ring binder, with lots of clear sheets with lettered tabs & pouches (baseball card sheets?  business card sheets?).

And, he was kind enough to throw in a small stack of photocopied documents of customer support help line info for the game Dungeon Explorer.  These are papers that the testers & help line people used.  They include maps, passwords, walkthrough info, etc.  A little more detail on the Dungeon Explorer documents: I sorted through them today & there are 41 sheets of paper.  14 are unique--I put those into set 1.  The remaining 4 sets of papers have 13, 5, 5, & 4 sheets to them, & each sheet in set 2-5 is also already included in set 1.  So, sets 2, 3, 4, & 5 are each a different subset of set 1.  Clear as mud?  :)

I'm looking to sell or trade this TG binder, with the Dungeon Explorer documents, pouch sheets & dividers (no Turbo Chips--I'm keeping those!).

Feel free to make offers!  If you want to spread the love, I could theoretically divvy up the Dungeon Explorer notes 5 ways, unless 1 person wants to horde multiple copies of the same pages.  :)

Thanks!
-Jason

A while before that they were randomly giving away chips from that very binder to people who ordered a certain amount of stuff. I have the Chew Man Fu.

So how many HuCards were left in the binder when you got it? The ones in your pic look Japanese, which doesn't make much sense.

I remember that craigslist ad and replied to the ad but the seller said it was pending sale already there were several hucards approximately 30+ or so and the seller on craigslist was asking like about $195-200 that was on losangeles.craigslist.org approximately 2 years ago.

Howdy-

I'm told it's bad etiquette to post a sale price of something to a private party.  I've seen many threads (on other forums) where people have asked this same question & the seller left it up to the buyer to chime in if he wished to divulge what he paid.

(Not trying to open up a can of worms or be coy--just being polite...I think?)

Thanks,
-Jason

@ SignOfZeta & Dalder.

I think Steve's asking price was $175.  Because I also bought a Turbo Express, we negotiated a package deal.  For illustration, I plopped in some Japanese cards from my recent trip to Japan at the request of a poster on Digital Press who wanted to see how they fit.  Below is the list of cards that I got from Steve.

Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge, Champions Forever Boxing, Dragon's Curse, Dungeon Explorer, Davis Cup Tennis, Dead Moon, Fantasy Zone, Final Lap Twin, Ghost Manor, Gunboat, Hit The Ice, Impossamole, Keith Courage, King of Casino, Ninja Spirit, New Adventure Island, Pac-Land, Power Golf, Psychosis, Samurai Ghost, Sonic Spike, Splatterhouse, Space Harrier, Super Vollyball, Tricky Kick, Timeball, Takin' It To The Hoop, T.V. Sports Hockey, T.V. Sports Football, Vigilante, Veigues Tactical Gladiator, World Court Tennis, World Sports Competition, World Class Baseball, Yo Bro.

Thanks,
-Jason

Are they just standard US releases, or is there anything different about them?

The cards that I received from Steve appeared to be just standard US releases.

This is cool-- I wish I'd seen this thread earlier. I got the China Warrior from this binder in a deal similar to the one Zeta described....

Too bad you took the photos off your photobucket, I would've loved to see shots of the binder and those DE pages. Did you make scans?

Sorry, I didn't keep pictures or scans or anything--I'm near my capacity limit on Photobucket, so I don't keep items after I've sold them & they've been received by the buyer.

Thanks,

Hey - I have a set of these notes, but it isn't just limited to Dungeon Explorer but a handful of Turbo Games. I dealt with Steve years ago and he threw it in as a part of a deal for a Turbo Express. I don't plan to sell it at this time, but I think I should probably get it scanned and shared. It seemed as if that was the right thing to do. Now I will just have to dig around and find that envelope it came in.

ok found them....just need to scan into PDF format. Mainly codes for most of the games, complete walk through for Dragon's Curse, partial walk through and maps for Exile, some maps for YS 1&2. I don't have anything for Dungeon Explorer so that must have gotten separated from these notes. =(

I was wondering if any of the codes weren't documented on websites like gamefaqs.

Enjoy guys, its only "free-99" per minute for these tips! Anyone remember calling the turbo hotline? I think i did once.

I called a bunch of times. I also wrote them a letter, to which they wrote back and sent me a Bonk's Adventure t-shirt as a freebie.

Jason can you contact the buyer and see if they would contact me or see this thread. I would like to piece back together the notes for more of the Turbo community to enjoy. Thanks!
