No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Ha this is awesome! Back when I was active on this forum I set up one of these as well. We only got through 91 games, regardless it was a lot of fun. If I have time I'll try to clear a game or two.

Well we failed, but it was a good effort. Congrads to everyone who beat games, i know this thread gave me some motivation to beat some hard games.

Updated. I haven't been on here in awhile, glad people are still playing through games. I haven't had much time to play Video games lately, but I'll see if I can clear one that hasn't been crossed out yet today.

Hello all!

I've been pretty inactive since September, but I got some new games.

Borderlands 2- Pretty much borderlands 1 with some tweaks, but the first was awesome so I don't really mind.
Katamari Forever-Roll stuff up! Who doesn't love that.
Assasin's Creed III- Only a couple hours in but seems good.

and I'm hoping to pick up the new Paper Mario this week

Did you beat it...  or did you beat it beat it?

It doesn't count unless you get all of the hidden fruit and beat all the extra stages.

BTW - One of my favorite games on the system, hope you enjoyed it!
I guess I just beat it. Plus it probably doesn't count, a friend and I used emulation with save states (only to save progress). We didn't cheat but it was split up into many sessions.
Shalom Brother! Sorry I can't count it brosauce, because of the save states.
Nooo! all I ever wanted was to be on the leader board. Jk. It is a really fun game. My friend and I didn't realize we could hop on the water until halfway through the game. That made things a lot more interesting.
Haha I know It's been your life goal to make it on your little brothers thread.

NY was great!
Welcome back, NYC is such a fun place to visit.

Did you ever pick up any more SNES fighters?
Haha no, I haven't bought a game in a few weeks. Though the last game I bought was Fighting Street... not a good decision. Schools kept me busy and girls drain money like there's no tomorrow. Thanks for all the welcome backs!

What kind of marble?  A shooter?  Every hour including nighttime?  Like I would have to wake up every hour and go hurl real quick?

Chris
Good questions. The cheese is cheddar and is totally edible, when you puke it is a single marble and yes you must wake up at night to puke the marble. For me I'd do the cheese sweat. I'd be a cheese farmer and just work out for a living.

I'd like to play 5 player bomberman on the Duo rather than plugging in the turbo every time, I won't be picky about any type will do as long as it works. I'd also trade Turbo controllers for them.

Thanks,

It plays alot better than New super mario bros Wii does with more than one person. Also The last stage i played tonight was a Shmup stage. It was just so great. I love game developers throw different genres into there games.
Rayman has a shoot-em-up stage? Ha! That is kool. Just to be clear: not a run-n-gun, but a shoot-em-up... :pcds:
Yeah it's a shoot 'em up stage. There is one at the end on each world.

Quote from: Keranu on 08/16/2012, 06:29 PMI beat this game some years ago. For the most part, I like it. It takes a very different approach from most RPGs by focusing on "community" aspects, but the RPG elements themselves are rather bland. Still, it has a very cool space setting and soothing Dreamcast-esque music accompanied by simple, cheery visuals. I have a feeling this game is going to be the next "Earthbound" to collectors in a few years, in part due to the zonky dialogue.

Here's a full review I wrote: http://web.archive.org/web/20100129152707/http://www.lazerdorks.org/hardcoregaming/opoona/index.html
I agree, the fact that this game sold poorly will help it obtain Earthbound status. As for the dialogue it can be pretty funny, one of the characters just randomly has a name change from Tron to Trog.

the sad part is that it's only a 1/2 joke, look at rayman origins, largely the same game as new super mario bros wii, but better.
Other than that they're reboots of classic series there not that similar, Rayman is the much better game though

I really like that Mario All stars. Seeing the earlier games converted to the 16bit style was all sorts of eye candy for me, still is. Can't go wrong with Tetris.

Have you tried the MMPR fighting game? pretty fun.
Yeah you can never go wrong with the original Mario's and The power Rangers game is actually a beat 'em up, it's very good.
if you liked that and haven't tried it, the "Gundam Wing Endless Duel" fighter on the SNES is top notch as well. TMNT tournament fighters too.
I have TMNT and really like it. It's one of the few fighters I put time into. Is Gundam a NTSC?

Quote from: OldRover on 08/15/2012, 02:19 AMHow does one "complete" Sim Earth? Completing every scenario? Or maybe just the hard ones (Mars, Venus)?
(1) There is a secret life form that can develop (if you are good enough!)

(2) Try to develop a planet controlled by whales (seriously!)

(3) Populate Venus and Mars.

(4) Advanced civilization on Mars!

(5) At the moment the secret life-form is created, NUKE THE PLANET. :pcgs:
