I'm amazed they went Bar top instead of the AES because it be cheaper instead of the built in screen.
#6
Can any one recommend them a thesaurus or give them one for this whole thing ?
#7
Thanks for the greats purchase

Well I've seen a bunch you usually at gamestop and most of them have the wrong code on the cart and the color of the plastic can be wrong or the sticker could be wrong in many quantities or they could misspell words.

Quote from: Purple1308 on 04/27/2018, 04:34 PMIf you really want to sell off your device you'll need to make the screen 4:3, have a video output, keep a way to have a cd drive function and, make it cheaper than a usual turbo express and pc engine gt
RetroPi outputs proper aspect ratio, have video output (HDMI and Composite), handle CD games fine (everything up through PS1). The most expensive Pi costs $35, but all the 8-16 bit stuff runs fine on the Pi Zero which is like $10.

If you've got a 3d printer, you can print your own case, or get one here for about $25.

A busted Gameboy might be cheaper?

This kit has everything else you need.

I've been wanting to build one of these for ages. :D
Oh i wasnt talking about the retro pi i was taking about that video on the top the portable console
Sorry for the confusion.

Hey does anyone know how the ps2 to pce converter work I always see them around compared to other controller types ?
Are they any good or just pieces of crap?
#12
Make a cardboard case it shouldn't cost much

To have that retro feel you'll pay as much as you did with an actual neo geo and pay 200 for each piece.
#14
Who else thinks this is going to be a neo geo classic?

Hey is dynastic hero still available ?

Quote from: PukeSter on 03/31/2018, 05:40 PMDamn dude nice. Good to see more Gen Z people play the Turbo.

I joined PCEFX when I was 13. Have grown quite a lot since then. Used to have a Duo-R but now I just have a Coregrafx 2, mostly emulate as well.

What are your favorite games? Maybe we got some in common.
Most of my personal favorites are
Zelda link to the past
Metroid zero mission
Castlvania 3
Alien crush
Legendary axe
If you haven't already, you should try Dragon's Curse.
Hey is dragons curse and dynastic hero text heavy I'm looking into the pc engine version
#17
Have you looked into the db booster that provides AV/S-Video/RGB
#18
I doubt they put any of the arcade card info because of how horrendous the turbo did in america and saw no reason to put money in already big failure but you should still have acess in the source code of the game for the arcade card.

Well I haven't gotten to far in turbo but I recently just got a pc engine duo from keith Courage so that list will change. Since I'm able to purchase pc engine games instead of turbografx 16 games which are insane now to buy.
Not a bad list of games, though we got some differences. I like all the 16-bit Castlevanias more than the Castlevania 3 ;) (except Dracula X snes, ew).

Here's my top 10, no order

Mario 64
Portal
Bloodborne
Garou Mark of the Wolves
Majora's Mask
Wario Land 4
Bonk's Revenge
Sonic CD
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3
Postal 2

You planning on buying games? Rondo of Blood is $200 at this point. Hope ya got some good cash, but it helps to save up for college. You'll need it for gas money/uber rides, food, hygeine stuff, maybe even alcohol if you chip in with someone.
Ha I'll probably have to get Rondo as a repro or get lucky and find a deal but I doubt that will happen.

Yeah i kinda do most of this stuff at school.
How old are you dude? I'm 19, sophomore in college. I post on my phone occasionally
Still in highschool but got into many things from doing emulation then into getting the hardware.

So was there any wireless controllers that used radio frequencies or is it all mainly IR I know the official NEC one is IR.

Ive updated the topic for the discussion about pc engine / turbografx 16 controllers or converters.

Quote from: Necromancer on 03/19/2018, 09:52 AMI'm not surprised it's not happening, but it's too bad Vita isn't getting a port too.  I'd be all over it.
I know I be more happier for a vita version than any other version of this game. Hopefully Japan would a port but that  Probably won't happen.

Quote from: Purple1308 on 03/15/2018, 11:30 PMIt feels weird to have bomberman speak or boss others around. Though the plot kinda seemed simple.
It's kinda great to see konami try working on video games though. Hopefully it isn't pay to win.
Switch version was not pay to win.  Even the special characters were fairly easily obtainable in game.  As long as there are no changes, I'd recommend picking this up on other systems.

Switch online was laggy shit too, the PS4 and XB1 should improve on that.
The only part I didn't like was the view of the field I wish it was top down instead of the corner view. But it be great to see better competition and not to much lag.

The first thing Keith mentioned was using an emulator on the Wii. Hacking, at least homebrew, is implied.

Quote from: Purple1308 on 02/21/2018, 08:28 PMWhat parts did you use for those arcade sticks
The one with PC-Engine in red text on it was made by the forum member here named bartre, he'll have to respond for what he put in it. He gifted it to me, excessively generously.

The grey Hori Fighting Stick PC in the bottom picture only has the stick replaced and I used a Seimitsu LS-32-01 Joystick. https://www.focusattack.com/new-seimitsu-ls-32-01-joystick-2017-model/ But not the 2017 version I did that mod late 2015 early 2016.

On this stick I also used a Seimitsu LS-32-01 Joystick and Sanwa OBSF 30mm buttons (https://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-obsf-30mm-pushbuttons-light-blue/)

IMG

This is the same shell that bartre used to make the PC-Engine stick, which was the PS3 Madcatz Fight Stick which they released a few times under different branding:
Street Fighter IV version:
IMG

WWE Version (I got 2 of these for 70$ shipped at one point, and used one to make the above gradius stick)
IMG

They also released a Wii variation for Tatsunoko VS Capcom
IMG

I think Madcatz sold the shell molds to a company called mayflash? I plan on getting one of these and swapping the PCB with genesis controller so I have a niceish microswitch stick on FEKA. Their sticks look almost identical to the Madcatz fightstick shell:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015PHMFU/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I169NSDUDN564A&colid=1R29VAFM828WT&psc=0

and I just recently got this wireless bluetooth rechargable li-battery powered stick for the Switch (works also with my android phone & tablets, laptop, and SNES Classic, and was on sale for under 50$), Love this thing so far but eventually want to add seimitsu stick and sanwa buttons:

It also allows unlimited copies of games saves as either traditional save banks or per game.
So do still use a system card for it
