Reverse the capacitor marked C60! If you use composite video or sync-on-composite for your RGB cable it could cause issues over time. Just flip it around. It's mounted in the wrong orientation. If you use C-sync for your RGB cable then you should be fine.

Rene of dbelectronics has posted an article on his site about possible dangers of using flash carts with your system. Some are fine, others are not. Worst are multicarts.

His article is here:
wayback://db-elec/dangers-of-3-3v-flash-in-retro-consoles/
IMG

Quote from: ReneThe use of 3.3V flash in retrogaming can lead to serious problems. Following a lengthy podcast discussion on the subject I felt it was important to elaborate on the matter by:

  • Giving technical explanations of the problem
  • Addressing common rebuttals
  • Listing devices which exhibit this problem

Let me be clear that using 3.3V Flash in a 5V system in of itself is not inherently bad; it can be done properly using level translators such as what has been done with the SD2SNES. What is bad, and what I am speaking out against, is directly connecting 3.3V Flash to 5V buses without proper interfaces such as level translators.
The 2nd version of the Turbo Everdrive is fine. The original isn't. Of course I have the original. Looks like I'll have to rebuying newer revisions of some carts and I hope Krikzz updates some of the others which have no good revisions, like Mega Everdrive X7, Master Everdrive etc etc. Apparently the Darksoft Neo Geo SD thingy is good. Not sure about the NeoSD.

I don't know how many of you had this promo tape. I was mailed one back in the day. I don't know if I still have it.
But you all might enjoy knowing that Tony Hawk was the one who made and edited the video. Tony Hawk said in an interview HERE that he used to do video editing when his income was low. I recognized his voice when I re-watched this video today. So I asked him if he made it. He confirmed that indeed he did.

I wish someone would make IFU adapter cables. I'd buy a set. That way you could hook your US Turbo to your JP IFU and have it safely laying next to the IFU. Reversely, I'd like to see a cable to make JP stuff work with the US IFU. That way I could hook up a SuperGrafx to my Turbo CD. My RGB mod is in my US IFU, so that means I could play SuperGrafx games in RGB without molesting the actual SuperGrafx. It'd look stupid, but I wouldn't be staring at the mess of a console while playing.

Here's the guts of my Supergun. All of the controller pins seem wired, but a few wires go to the thing on the top of this pic which is like a DB9. I guess it's some shit for 6-button sticks. I have no idea how all that works. I added +5v out the RGB output and -5v input which Superguns never have, I guess. This one does now.

Got the PVM in a week ago today. Unfortunately since the monitor had been dropped once in its life and likely kicked around more by FedEx just for fun, the power button didn't work. It was stuck. I tried to pull it out, but then it fell into the chassis. Byron came over (fellow forum member BlueBMW) and installed a high tech paperclip solution to the power button.

Push to power on, pull to power off. This is a temporary solution until I can buy more fishing line.

Here's Out Run on the Sega Saturn. You'll notice that it is in the 60fps mode. I mean I noticed as I was playing so I assume you'll notice as you look at this still picture.

Close-up! Good, but still a little smearing here and there. I am using component transcoded from RGB because I do not yet have a SCART to BNC breakout cable, but I'll get one soon.

I love those pads. I usually put the regular SNES purple buttons in there though because I like how two of them are concave. Not sure why as I use the regular SNES pad that the colored buttons went into from time to time and I have no issue with 100% convex buttons. The parts are pretty much 100% identical to the original SNES pad with interchangeable parts and all. I usually despise 3rd party d-pads and buttons but this doesn't really use 3rd party parts, so #winning!  (LOLOL remember that neither do I).

Pfffttt you are all complete losers. PC Engine is better than everything!

graphcis:
PC Engine has more colors more sprites mroe backgronds and more awsome visuals. No Super Nitnedo. no TurboGrafx-16 or Geneiss game looks as good as any PC Engine game. Go to hell if you di You maybe think that the SNES has more colros but they are fake colors not real genesis has fake sprites we should laugh at genesis

pcevseverything.webp
Tell me that the PCE doesn't look like the best grfix this is the evidence pictures odnt lie

audo sound:
PC engine is once again best with better audio higher qulity and mbetter musics. u may think gensis and snes has more channels and more modern audio but pce is betetr because it can play tru stereo voice vlcps. Don't even bring TurboGrafx-16 into the argument beciause PCE detroyes TG-16 audio. TG-16 sounds like beefed up NES but PCE sounds like areola man. only losers would

CPU:
The central processing unti in the PCE is much better than eithe the SNES, Gensis or TurboGrafx-16. The PCE CPU processes real number in real time to make better games grpahcis and sounds but the other snes turbo and Genesis processors have to process slowly and with darkness and they suck and can't play games aat least not good ones.

controll"
pC Engine has the best controller with the fasteest presponse time and the other feel. snes geensis are like crap and have lsow response time they are suck. TuboGrafx-16 controller sucks because it has backwards numbers they can't even count in the correct direction but PCE has them in order because in Japan they read from right to left. anythibg in japan is betetr ythan everything in th eusa no exception

gamepaly:
The games play much better on PC Engine because of the hyper speed 1-6-bit power it's the only tru 16-bit system of the world. The games are also much more

the Games:
The PC Engine has the best game liebary as well snes and Genesis only have games that are not any fun at all and play like crap athat nobody wants to play but every PC engine game is a winner which has the fun to extreme.

OK I got mine in today. Check my post when I ordered it, do the math and there you have your processing and shipping time. I ordered the peg version but they sent me the screw version because they are retards. No pegs anywhere and no clue what screws to buy. I imagine I can still use a few drops of superglue to fasten it, though. At least they sent the correct color.

Anyway, here it is:
IMG

Overall the thing does not feel like plastic. I wish it did. Instead it feels grainy and not smooth. Basically after you run your finger over it you want to check your finger and rub off the sand, but none is there. I have no idea how strong it is and am afraid to try and find out.

In the Turbo:
IMG

The unit fits well on the Turbo Everdrive. However it does not come without some caveats. You can no longer reset the card by feeling for the button with your thumb or finger. You now have to use your fingernail to press it down. Same goes with the MiroSD card. It will insert and remove but you need fingernails. The switch on the side to choose between a US and JP console is inaccessible without a toothpick, but I imagine this won't be an issue for too many people.

I know it comes with a switch and wire to enable/disable JP mode for games like Wonder Boy 3, but is the FM/PSG switch easily accessible from the outside of the SMS? OK here's what I have acquired in the last 2 weeks:

IMG

-Wii U (not pictured) but it came with that Nintendo Land game. - $349.95 (screw you suckers who paid $349.99!)

-Need for Speed Most Wanted: A Criterion Game (yes that's the actual title). - PS3 - $59.95. Great game. Not as cool as Burnout Paradise but still really, really good. Some things have improved upon Burnout Paradise's foundation, though.

-Little Big Planet Karting. -  PS3 - $19.95 at Best Buy (after $5 off coupon).  Worth it?  Yeah I dunno. Not horrible by any means but not amazing in any way. Haven't tried and user-created tracks or online yet.

-Sonic Generations - Xbox360 - $18.95 at Target. I waited for the price to drop on this and I'm glad I did. The main stages are really fun, but there's quite a delay between pressing the jump button and actually jumping. I don't like that I have to earn the boss fights by going back to each stage a few times and doing stupid shit like having Knuckles dig for treasure. Sonic still hasn't returned to his former glory. They just can't get a Sonic game right and keep trying to include all of this other extra shit that just gets in the way instead of adding to the fun. What's wrong with you, Sega?

-New Super Mario Bros U - Wii U - $59.95 - Target. It's weird paying $60 for the same exact game that's on the Wii. Is there any difference? I haven't noticed any yet. This is about as different as Madden 94 is from Madden 93.

- Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed (yes, that's the actual title) - Wii U - $20 - Target. I originally bought the Wii U with 3 games, This, Mario U, and Batman Arkham City U. They were having a "buy two, get the 3rd for half price" thing, so this was $20.  Before I even got out of the store, I decided I didn't want Batman, so I returned it at Guest Services. They refunded the full $59.95 and I still kept this game for $20. It's about what it's worth. Sonic is featured more prominently and they dropped Sega from the title which was dumb as now the title doesn't make any sense. The game is nowhere near as good as the first one. The flying and boating are cool, but overall the game just isn't as fun and the tracks are not as well designed. It's hard to drift long enough to get a boost now and the difficulty is really ramped up as well. The selection of characters is also pretty lame. I have no idea how to unlock more despite me playing this far more than any other Wii U game. A serious downgrade from the first game. Despite being fun, it's still rather disappointing. This is the BONUS EDITION as you can tell by looking at the box. This means there are extra bugs and glitches that aren't in the 360 or PS3 versions.

-Wii U Xbox 360 controller - Wii U - Forgot the price, but fiance bought it for me. This works for only one game that I have. Why did I get this? It will never be supported in the majority of good games. I am an idiot. What's weird is that when I'm pressing the buttons with my right thumb, I instinctively want to movie it DOWN to touch the right analog stick, not up where it actually needs to go.

-The Dark Knight Rises - Blu-ray - Batman makes a couple of cameos in this movie.

-SD2SNES - SNES - $180 - This allows me to do suspicious, questionable and highly illegal things on my Super Nintendo. This can ONLY be used for illegal things. I made my own cart shell and label.

Finally played Nintendo Land tonight. Most of it was crap and I don't recommend owners of the basic system shell out $60 for it. It's basically "Wii Play", a bunch of demos. However there is balloon Trip Breeze included on the disc and it is awesome. Just like the classic but updated for the new millennium! It's like a DS game, but better!

Here's a screenshot of me playing this awesome game.

That is so incredibly fake that it's insulting. When the camera is over the person, the perspective of the "shaft" goes straight down. But the lower camera shows a completely different perspective on the same monitors. Fake as hell. Both perspectives would be forced and in 2D. They woudl startle no one. It would look like a light show on the floor of a club. They'd also notice that the floor was lit the second they stepped into the elevator. You can tell a monitor is on even when it's just showing black.

EDIT: Look at the handle bar in the first shot of the woman in the GIF file. See the green? That's the reflection of the green screen on the floor. Here's a bigger shot if you need it. The floor is green and they just keyed that out and put in crappy graphics. The truth is that LG monitors probably suck.

After I click OK it says the process is complete.  Is this normal?  I don't want to burn an incomplete patch.  Windows XP service pack 2 (I think).  No clue what that DLL is.

My guess is that I'll need to re-rip the game, re-find the english text patch and then redo this after I get this DLL thing sorted (no clue what a DLL even is, fuggin' Windows), correct ?

It actually works out pretty well, I find.  Here's some pics of how I do it:

case1.jpg
I have the long part of the sleeve on top and to the left.  I have all my HuCard sleeves oriented this way.

case2.jpg
The card inserted into the special case.  Long part gets tucked under in the left side.  It doesn't bunch up.  The right side goes under the tabs.

case3.jpg
One of the reasons I like this method is that it's really easy to insert and remove the card like shown with one or two fingers (if the thumb counts as a finger).  There's nothing forced either when it goes in or comes out (this is starting to sound sexay).  There's no holes to worry about lining up.  And the card is definitely not going to fall out of the case even if you shake it while it's open.  Though I imagine if you shook it hard enough it might come out.

EDIT:  I accidentally a word.
