@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

07/08/2016, 11:13 AM
I purchased this shirt from Turbokon with the intention of raffling it off but then forgot about it until someone brought up the fact that raffles hadn't been happening as frequently as they used to. With that said...

Up for raffle is a size Large Turbo Grafx T-shirt complete with Obi strip (j/k it is washing instructions) open to anyone in the continental US on these forums. Winner must post a selfie of themself wearing the shirt. Drawing will be July 21.

There are a few scuffs on the system but that is just cosmetic. It has been tested and everything functions fine. Sorry for the poor quality photos but the battery on my camera just died so I had to use my iPod. Looking to get $350 for this setup (everything in the photos below) plus $25 for shipping (Continental US only).

Hey guys, I've been helping a friend of mine list games on ebay over the weekend and I thought I could help him a little more by advertising here on the forums.
His ebay ID is sarchap. Here's a link to his listings....http://myworld.ebay.com/sarchap/

We've listed 132 games/lots so far and have a ways to go before his game room is empty. He collected for quite a few different platforms: NES, SMS, Genesis, Dreamcast, Game Gear, Wii, Gamecube, Gameboy, 3DO, N64, PSP, and maybe a few others that I can't remember. If anyone is interested in something listed, I could see if he could hook you up with a forums member deal. If there's anything you are looking for that is not listed, I can see if he has it and perhaps sell it without having to list it (to bypass ebay fees).

We have a little competition to see whose listings will end up selling faster (although he listed quite a few more games than I have but I took more photos than he did).

I recently downloaded the free Mega Man vs. Street Fighter game for the 25th anniversary http://www.capcom-unity.com/mega_man and I purchased this adapter so I could use a NES controller to play it. When the package arrived, there were 2 adapters inside. I only need 1 so I'm offering the spare to whoever wants it. Hopefully, you use it to play Mega Man and can give me some advice on how to defeat Vega.

I realize that most of the members here already have this system but I wanted to make it available on the forums before I put it up on e(vil)bay.

IMG
The system has some cosmetic scratches on top (see photo). The system was tested (both hu card and CD) and works great. There are no audio issues but due to the age of the system, it might be a good idea to have the caps changed.

IMG
Box is included but does not contain the manual or foam inserts. I made some custom inserts for shipping purposes though.

Not pictured but included:1 original Duo pad controller, AC adapter, AV cable, and the obligatory Keith Courage in Alpha Zones game.

I have a few spare games and a multitap that I can include if anyone wanted to "build their own bundle".

I recently obtained this plastic case with latches and figured that it might make a nice carry case for a Turbo Express but I'd like find the "Turbo Express" logo to make as a sticker to put on the outside (or some other suitable label). Please provide photos and/or suggestions. Thanks!

Today is my birthday and I'd like to celebrate by giving a gift (much like other generous members on the forum).
This freebie giveaway is a little different than just a raffle... I would like members to submit their high scores in Parasol Stars (my favorite hu card game) via photograph. If you are able to beat my high score by the end of the month, I will send you the freebie. If not, one consolation prize will be randomly drawn for a member who has submitted his/her (are there any females on this forum?) high score.

Off-Topic / Laptop Buying Advice
04/11/2011, 12:26 AM
I'm in the market to get a laptop but before I shell out a sizable amount of cash, I'd like some advice and suggestions so I can make an informed decision. I've been looking at Cyberpower PC and Alienware but I'm open to other suggestions. I'm not big on PC gaming but I do plan to get Star Wars:The Old Republic. I noticed a lot of companies sell Microsoft Office but can't I just transfer that from my Desktop to my Laptop and save some money?

I will post a photo of the Laptop that I do end up getting in the "What did you buy today thread?" when it arrives.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm leaving today to head to the Star Wars Customizable Card Game World Championship in "Sunny" Philadelphia. The main event is tomorrow and they will have some other side events during the weekend but I might skip them to do some sightseeing while I'm in the area. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations of  places/things to check out? I definitely plan to get an original "Philly" Cheese steak Grinder. I heard that the Paddy's Pub from the TV Show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" isn't actually in Philly so I might have to investigate that (since I'm a big fan of the show).

Do you use the same armor throughout the game or have you found one armor to be most effective against certain bosses and switch to that one with the selection of each stage?

I was recently looking at this compatibility guide found here:
https://www.pcengine-fx.com/main/nec_compatibility_guide.html

According to the guide, the PC-505 is the converter better known as the "Purple Barney".
This particular converter is not even pictured in the guide.

In the last DEWmocracy campaign, I liked all 3 flavors but I thought Voltage was the best and it ended up winning. =D> It is sad that the other 2 flavors (Revolution and Supernova) will no longer be available. :( This time around, Typhoon is the only flavor that I even like and it is currently in second place.  I think White Out (which is currently in the lead) tastes identical to Fresca so it would be a shame for it to win and have a duplicate flavor in stores. I hope that you guys will help me vote for Typhoon  [-o<

Thanks guys!

I recently picked up Strider Hiryu (PC Engine Arcade CD) and after placing it in my Turbo Duo with Arcade Card Duo in Kisado Converter, I received a comic book style error message. It was kinda cool looking but I wanted to play the game. Fortunately, I also have the Arcade Pro Card and it worked fine with that but I don't know why it won't work with the Arcade Duo Card. Has anyone experienced this with this game or any others?

Off-Topic / Turbo Ringtones
03/06/2009, 02:24 PM
I recently purchased the LG Voyager cell phone and not wanting to pay $2.99 for each desired ringtone, I went searching for some free ones. I came across a site called Mobiles24.com which not only has free ringtones but allows you to create your own! I'm planning to make some Turbografx/PC engine music into ringtones and upload them there for everyone to be be able to enjoy and welcome others to do the same if they have some cool stuff to share.

Castlevania: Dracula X, Parasol Stars, Cadash, and Lords of Thunder will be my first uploads.

Off-Topic / Headphone Compatibility
11/13/2008, 12:13 AM
The Situation: I play DrumMania a lot. Sometimes while playing, the sound of drumsticks hitting the pads is louder than the music (especially when getting to intense sections of the song). I think headphones would solve this problem. However, the Japanese Slimline Playstation 2 is not equipped with a headphone jack. Similarly, I would like to be able to use headphones on my Nintendo Wii. Hopefully, this post will kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Possible Solutions:
1. Plug the Red/White Composite Audio output cables into a Receiver with headphone jack.
Problem- I do not have a Receiver  #-o
2. USB wireless headphones
3. Connecting the Audio outputs to couplers then to headphones
Problem- Not sure what other cable(s) is/are necessary. I would think it would be a female to female stereo mini jack but don't know if those even exist.
4. Fill in your own if you have an idea, suggestion, or recommendation.

Tested:
I have USB wireless headphones that when plugged into my computer, the blue LED light on the transmitter flashes when music is playing. When plugged into the PS2 USB port, the blue LED light remains on but no music comes through. I think the USB ports on the system might only be for inputs. Can anyone confirm this?

Untested:
There are 2 USB ports on the system so I was thinking that maybe I could connect the other one to a computer and perhaps adding the transmitter as hardware might work.

Questions:
1. Has anyone tried using USB wireless headphones on a PS2?
2. Has anyone successfully gotten headphones to work on a video game system not equipped with a headphone jack?

Any advice, insight, or suggestions in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Off-Topic / Game Storage
10/04/2008, 01:14 AM
When I first started collecting games, I used a CD Tower. The problem is that it only holds 120 jewel cases and no double sized ones (like the ones for Beyond Shadowgate and Vasteel) and I recently surpassed that total. Any suggestions or recommendations as to what to use to store my collection so that everything will fit and also be on display? What do you guys use?
#33
Although the instruction manual isn't in English, Panic Bomber(man) seemed relatively easy to grasp how to play and was addictively fun...then one of my computer opponents launched a rocket that shook the screen so I couldn't see what I was doing and when it reached the top of the screen, my side was filled with burnt bomberman faces. Needless to say, I lost.  #-o Has anyone experienced this while playing? What do you have to do to launch a rocket and totally devastate your opponent?

Off-Topic / Familiar music
09/25/2008, 12:25 AM
I recently picked up the Special Edition version of Dragonforce's new CD "Ultra Beatdown" and upon hearing the intro to track 10 "Scars of Yesterday", it sounded familiar as if it were from a video game (since they sometimes throw that kind of stuff into their songs). I think it might be from one of the first 3 Mega Man games. Can anyone confirm this or know where it is from?

I recently obtained the coveted PC Engine LT but the system is hardly portable since you have to plug in the AC adapter. I have heard of people making their own portable battery packs for the system. If anyone can make one for me or suggest where to find one, I'm am greatly interested in purchasing one. Thanks
#38
I recently purchased a PC Engine LT and noticed a headphone jack with "AV input" written next to it. I think this means you could probably use the screen on the LT to watch DVD's or even plug another video game console into and play on. Can anyone confirm this or know where to get such a cable?

PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / R vs. RX
07/18/2006, 02:14 AM
Anyone know the specific differences between the PC Engine Duo-R and the PC Engine Duo-RX (other than the control pad)?
#40
Seeing as how the US version of Dynastic Hero goes for $150-$300, I decided to purchase a Japanese version for $15. I am stuck in the game because all the text is in Japanese. Does anyone know if there is a walk-through for it? Or could anyone help me defeat the Turtle Boss in the Mayan Temple. I would appreciate any help offered. Thanks!
#41
I have a US Turbo Duo and was considering purchasing the Japanese PC Engine Duo R but the seller told me that I needed to get a different power supply. Anyone know what kind I need? Or is the US power supply compatible with the Japanese?
#42
I just read the post about sound fix for a Turbo Duo CD but I have a problem with the audio for both the Hu cards and the CD so I was wondering what could be done about that. The audio randomly comes and goes and often crackles while doing so. I purchased a new AV cable but it still does it with the new cable so it is an internal system problem. I would appreciate any assistance in this matter
