@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Modern/Current game publisher that focuses on localizing and or releasing JP games in the US. They cheated NW out of crediting/payment for finished Ys localizations which they've profited from ever since, plus many more dubious acts that I am surely ignorant of.

DK asked me to post an update, and since we've recently made some progress both to share and to hold behind the curtain I figured I might as well

We recently got the final level to a very nice point graphically, and now DK is smoothing out the edges on the animation and level design. A few small polish things visually and that level will be at the same point of completion as the shown shower level, but we will not be showing the final level since it would spoil the fun of what the last level is. We've bookended the project with a 80% done first level "Slippery Situation" a.k.a. the shower level, and now this 75% done last level "Doggone Dilemma".

We've continued working on the vacuum level, and there's a lot on my plate for that, so when I have some art to show - or DK has any new gameplay to show - we will share that when it's available.

I recently updated the HP Bar, and DK thought that'd be fun to share. Thank you Sarumaru for the placeholder we've used up until now, but I wanted to make something that is more noticeable when it changes, and something that matches the look of the player's character :catastrophy:

IMG

Sorry I don't have more to share with you all, but hopefully we keep up the recent momentum and have more to share soon. Thanks for the interest.

Whole heartedly agree, and had sent the two used in both DoxPhiles and discords emojis for yuki and your atlantean ship, maybe you can post some here?

I can't seem to get the yuki url from discord mobile app, I was at a pc at the time.

I also had sent 16x16 versions of the cat which are the gameplay sprites  and same pixel relativity to the smilies

Quote from: Purple1308 on 02/21/2018, 08:28 PMWhat parts did you use for those arcade sticks
The one with PC-Engine in red text on it was made by the forum member here named bartre, he'll have to respond for what he put in it. He gifted it to me, excessively generously.

The grey Hori Fighting Stick PC in the bottom picture only has the stick replaced and I used a Seimitsu LS-32-01 Joystick. https://www.focusattack.com/new-seimitsu-ls-32-01-joystick-2017-model/ But not the 2017 version I did that mod late 2015 early 2016.

On this stick I also used a Seimitsu LS-32-01 Joystick and Sanwa OBSF 30mm buttons (https://www.focusattack.com/sanwa-obsf-30mm-pushbuttons-light-blue/)

IMG

This is the same shell that bartre used to make the PC-Engine stick, which was the PS3 Madcatz Fight Stick which they released a few times under different branding:
Street Fighter IV version:
IMG

WWE Version (I got 2 of these for 70$ shipped at one point, and used one to make the above gradius stick)
IMG

They also released a Wii variation for Tatsunoko VS Capcom
IMG

I think Madcatz sold the shell molds to a company called mayflash? I plan on getting one of these and swapping the PCB with genesis controller so I have a niceish microswitch stick on FEKA. Their sticks look almost identical to the Madcatz fightstick shell:
amazon.com/dp/B0015PHMFU/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I169NSDUDN564A&colid=1R29VAFM828WT&psc=0
IMG

and I just recently got this wireless bluetooth rechargable li-battery powered stick for the Switch (works also with my android phone & tablets, laptop, and SNES Classic, and was on sale for under 50$), Love this thing so far but eventually want to add seimitsu stick and sanwa buttons:

That PCE stick is un-fricking-believable.

It's got a RJ-45 female port for it's connection to the system (ethernet jack). You can take cables for most other systems and convert the controller side to the RJ-45 to use this stick on various systems. Bartre hooked me up so fat, I am forever indebted. He included a PS1/2 cable, a PC/PS3 cable (have not tried it on my 360 yet), and of course a PCE cable. It works great on those systems, I've used it almost daily since getting it. I am currently playing Neutopia with it, such a different experience playing that game with a arcade stick really gives it a arcade action game feel. I crimped a SNES controller cable for it, and am hoping to crimp a Saturn and NES cable this weekend. The stick in both of those sticks is a Seimitsu LS-32 which I personally love the feel of.

Here are some more pics:

The Fightstick PC is great too, I loved it before getting Bartre's masterpiece. The edges are kind of sharp and get uncomfortable during long periods of play, and when I got it there was a lot of rust buildup on the bottom plate, and there was corrosion and rust on the actual shaft of the stick and microswitches, so I had to swap that out for it to work responsively and consistently. I put a LS-32 in it as well (all of my microswitch sticks have those now)

I have a distane for both hasek and Roy, so my opinion is purely biased. I'd put fuhr and eddy above both of them. I never saw plante or hall, so I have a hard time ranking them despite knowing their influence. How about some Richter love, hell he is the main character in the PCE castlevania and introduced the world to the flexibility and style we enjoy seeing out of so many goalies today :)

Quote from: Gredler on 01/24/2018, 01:39 PMLundqvist is the boundary pusher for equipment developments - he basically started the massive thigh rise movement IMHO if not just popularizing it. My wife also thinks he's very handsome, so I hate him for that reason as well. Ugly goalies with form fitting equipment, that's my jam! :P

Price's shakey start had a lot of fantasy owners trembling that he was falling off the wagon, but he's picked it back up it seems, playing like his old calm self again.
i don't think you can put that all on Lundy.  IT was a trend before he came along it was 2005 when they made them wear form fitting jerseys and downsize to 15" and 45" gloves. it was only a matter of time till they pushed the limits elsewhere.  Roy and Brodeur collective style also played a role in it IMO.
I am specifically talking about thigh rises. You could order pads "Lundqvist spec" which was a rigid thigh rise so it doesn't bend to fit over your thigh (and a special Y shaped calf strap that bridges the two into one for more rotation).

Yeah ESPN Pro Beach Hockey was a thing down here for a while, tried to compete with RHI (Professional roller hockey.)

During the early/mid 90's they were really trying to get hockey going down here, and there were not a lot of rinks, so "Street hockey" turned into "roller hockey" which branched into "beach hockey".

Roller hockey uses specific pucks that have changed over the years,
going from these:
HockeySpeedPucks.webp

to these (after a bunch of shitty wierd "innovations" and attempts between, these have been standard for about 5-10 years)
rocket-puck-black.webp

As you probably saw if you watched the video, Beach Hockey used a ball, and that thing you can put a TON of english on it, almost like lacrosse where you can make the ball's flight path curve dip and elevate depending on the spin you put on the ball. This is somewhat possible with hockey pucks, but requires a great distance to get any sort of bend to the flight path. The ball however, that thing was squirrelie and you can score from wherever with it using changeups and curveballs and stuff, so they added "two point goals" where if you scored from outside of the massive crease you were awarded 2 goals.

As a goaltender I hate ball hockey because of the curve, but it makes for some exciting viewing. A lot of those beach hockey players also played in the RHI and AHL/IHL/WCHL - some went up to NHL briefly. I know quite a few of those guys, as they still play today - it's fun to hear them reminisce about those days.

This SS gift keeps on giving! A 4$ snes extension cable, multimeter, a rj45 cap, crimper, some tutorial video watching, and now my snes is significantly more respectable. Thanks again bartre, I am obsessed!!

I have NES and Saturn cables stripped and mapped, just need to crimp them. Ordering cables for GameCube, dreamcast, and of Xbox today.  This thing's going to get a lot of use - I love it.

Wow Santa Bartre went way above and beyond with this gift!! I love this thing so much, I can't wait to go use it. I will post more about it after I get a chance to use it, but I wanted to pop on and say thank you so much for the awesome gift! I love using arcade sticks, and am very comfortable with a similar stick so I can't wait to try out some obey with this bad boy.

Thanks so much man, you really shouldn't have gone so big dude this is bad ass!! Stole the show today, great job!

It was a movie with explosions and a lot of weird creatures. Wish it had some cooler vistas and environments; the casino was shot so closely and so far out you didn't get a good feel for it. There were also a lot of times where I had a hard time understanding the topography/architecture where it seemed they were teleporting around from scene to scene; it didn't feel connected at times.

Also, weird hair dye job and alient tit milk - those things happen

Danm, you got me.

I do think I will buy this over the weekend. I feel constrained by the lack of layers, and I am super curious about the dither painting tools, and multi shade gradients. I love the auto dithering gradients.

Some things I miss from photoshop, which I hope are alleviated in the full version and familiarity:

- It's difficult to overlay sprites while working on tile maps. My workflow in photoshop includes having sprites 'floating' anywhere I position them, so I can see how the character and gameplay elements look over the tiles as I draw them, to make sure they don't blend together. In Pro Motion NG it seems like any art on the screen is part of the tile, not 'separate'. I am hoping I can put sprites on a layer and then hide them when exporting so that I can see how the colors play together while working but not affect the final art.

- Out of the box brush library. In photoshop you have a astronomically more robust brush library out of the gate. In addition to the library initially available, you have a ton of very accessible and easy to adjust controls for things like hue/saturation/value, size, scatter, rotation, angle, and more. You can also easly find packs of brushes that people have made you can take and use. I hope I get enlightened on how to do similar things in PMNG but right now photoshop wins in the brush catagory

- Smart objects. Being able to create a non destructive instance of a group of layers, perform adjustments and transformations, then bake that into a new object is super handy and nice esp when working on variances of a single asset

- Interface. It sucks not being able to quickly dock the palettes to eachother, and although you can quickly save and load 2 interfaces; photoshop lets you save and name as many as you want, and is much easier to quickly layout and adjust the interface to fit different image scales and needs.

The palette handling however, is so much beyond what photoshop focuses on that it encourages me to keep going and figuring the program out. I wont stop, cant stop, and am having fun doing it.

Here is a shot of me drawing some shit. Arkhan, look at this shit. You love this shit.
