For retro games I'm happy with emulation now.
I think if you play with the emulator settings and add scanlines I honestly think emulation looks amazing on a modern LCD/LED TV.

these days I'll very rarely pick up the odd retro game, for the most part I'm done with owning original games. Unless there's some colossal price crash I won't ever get back in to it.

Nearly all political discussion I watch or read (news articles, documentaries etc..) isn't inline with my personal political views, but it's still fascinating to watch and hear others view points, differing political view points leads to debate, which is the foundation of good healthy politics.

Sounds interesting but the link doesn't work for me.
Wow, that didn't last long! Looks like it's down for copyright infringement.

Glad I got the chance to watch it, but it's a bit more of a one-man-show, and not-as-funny-as-he-thinks, advert for Hilary, rather than a serious/humorous look at why some folks believe in The Donald (that I was hoping for).

Some good points in there, though.
Seen more people talking about this Michael Moore film, I really want to check it out now, anyone know where I might be able to watch it?? other people seem to be but not revealing where they're watching it.

Has anyone on here actually been on Nintendo Age or facebook groups?? people on there are all like this, it's surprising more haven't made it on here.

Quote from: Ex_Mosquito on 10/29/2016, 01:12 PMI've since sold all my Engine stuff in 2003 to fund my arcade cab :/ I recently got back into in with a briefcase unit + Everdrive, I regret selling all my originals now!
Yeah know the feeling, I sold most of my games collection a few years back and regret it now, mine was from pressure from my wife due to the limited space in our house.

Quote from: Ex_Mosquito on 10/29/2016, 01:12 PMI went to Tokyo in 09' and I'm kicking myself for not getting a shedload of cheap Engine games back then when I had the chance
I went to Japan a few times years back and it was like going to Mecca, it was mind blowing, unlimited games all dirt cheap and all mint. Apparently those days a now long, long gone and most of Japan's retro game stocks have been bled dry and left the country via gaijin and resellers.

Quote from: Ex_Mosquito on 10/29/2016, 01:12 PMBtw. Are you the author of Hyper Play? I listened to an interview on RGDS podcast about that fanzine.
It's not my zine. I've always been a massive fan of printed fanzines and a massive fan of Super Play, the magazine that inspired this fanzine. So when I first heard about Hyper Play it was right up my street and hoped it would be a success, which it looks like it has been.
I'm hoping it would lead the way and be the start of a revival of printed fanzines in general, be awesome to see ones about shoot 'm ups or fighting games etc.. or platform specific like Neo Geo or PC Engine etc..

Great story Ex_Mosquito.
Those CEX PC Engine prices seem pretty good for a retail store, but as you say was near the end so they were just clearing the retro stick.
BTW in the past I've watched on YouTube a few of your arcade play through and 1CCs, enjoyed them, good stuff.

I'm now addicted to my daily bottle of Coke, I only allow myself one 330ml glass bottle a day, but if I miss it I'm sweating like a crack head.

Chicken royale with cheese trumps though.
Never been in a gbk otaking. Any good? Dirty burger is ok. Nice burgers shit chips & too expensive.
I've never been big into beef burgers, although I haven't been many times I do like the burgers at gbk.
In general I much prefer a chicken burger, often I'll get a KFC Fillet Tower burger, has a hash brown in it FTW.

As a Turbo fan, I don't understand what they are doing... Both of these games were among the easiest to purge from my collection when I decided to only keep the games I liked....  There are so many good games they could be playing instead...
My assumption is these are being played since Halloween is around the corner. I wouldn't be surprised if the next game is Splatterhouse
Looks like you're right.

Just watching now, great stuff.

Yeah I should say I'm not necessarily recommending to watch these.
Just note worthy that a Youtuber like Pat & Ian are doing TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine Let's Plays.

In fact I'm not a big fan of Let's Plays in general, the only ones I have ever really enjoyed have been the BitHead1000 ones.
#281
Pat & Ian have recently started a Let's Play series, they're all NES so far and I haven't watched any of them, but apparently in the future they're going to do Let's Plays of TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine games.

Here's the first one Ghost Manor

Quotehttps://www.finder.com.au/nintendo-switch-announcement-sends-nintendo-stock-price-south

We all remember the massive swell in share price Nintendo enjoyed following the release of Pokémon Go right? Well, how did Nintendo's share price respond to the announcement of the Switches reveal and the reveal itself?

When the announcement came out in the morning shares rose a small amount of 4%, following the reveal of the system Nintendo's shares dropped by 7%... a similar response to what happened when the WiiU was revealed. Not a great response. Whilst it's not a massive swing it does mean that the net response over 24 hours for the systems reveal was to make the company lose value.

Earlier I played the Switch reveal video to my my daughters who are 7 & 9 and are Nintendo crazy and they could barely make it to the end of the 3 minute video, they just didn't care.
Maybe that's beacuse the video marketing was targeting young adults and Nintendo's demographic for it's last previous consoles has been kids or famlies with kids.
#293
What price do peeps here think it will launch at?
#296
The previous NX leaks on the designs were pretty much spot on.
The other major leak was that it had no optical drive and looks like that is correct too, in the video it looks like the games are on SD card style game cartridges.

The biggest reveal of the video is the footage of a new 3D Mario game.
