No, he just wants someone to mail him a money order (or cash, I suppose) and just trust that he's going to send them their game, when he has no rep here, no selling references, no nothing. There is absolutely no excuse for not taking Paypal if the buyer is willing to pay the fees. Unless of course he doesn't have a bank account or credit card for some reason (troubles with the IRS, an ex-wife, etc.)

I really hope that one of the lurkers who only come here to buy shit gives this guy their money and loses it all.

I'm a friend of a guy with a shop who bought $10,000 worth of shit from the family of a deceased collector/game store owner. 80 crates total. Supposed to have most every turbo game released including Magical Chase (sorry but that one is mine). I'm having him compile a list of games to have for me Friday. No need. I met with the seller last night and everything went smoothly. The game was exactly as pictured and he even let me have it for $20 less to cover the cost of gas. He asked me to take a photo of him, to prove that he's legit. He would have posted one, but is having trouble digging up photos of himself.

Anyways, I tore it open as soon as I got home and fired it up. Unfortunately, it turned out to just be a broken version of the TurboChip game, with inferior tunes, choppy animation and no transformations (no wonder they never dared to release it in Japan). Oh well, at least others can learn from my mistake and skip on picking up this turd at any price.

For those who are curious, here's a pic of the game-

Still nice and minty. I guess that I could let it go for $400, as I paid $480 for it, if anyone wants it strictly as a collectible. As you can see by the photo, I definitely have the game and you can list me as i2rbo's first reference, in case the photo of him is somehow not assurance enough. Even if you can't meet in person as I did, I'm sure that he won't rip you off, even though there would be zero repercussions for him if he did. Just look at that smile.

Seriously tho, the seller was very polite in his emails, and never tried to "convince" me to buy it. He must have his reasons why he doesn't want to use PayPal, but as a new member, it leaves all the trust on the buyer's end. That is what will make it a hard sell. It could be a scam, but then again, it could be legit. It's just too hard to tell the difference with so many folks trying to screw someone over.

Why don't you take your game and go to ebay. Very few people here are going to pay your ridiculous price or with your even more ridiculous method of transaction. $325 what a complete joke.

If anyone sends this ass your money, you deserve to be scammed. I usually try not to get too overly involved with threads like this, but this one is just too good to pass up.

As an update to my earlier post, he is "supposed" (notice the quotes) to email me a list with prices today. Don't expect the usual PCEFX pricing for games, but I've done business and sent many customers his way for the past 8 years so I usually get really good deals from him. Heading up to his shop Sunday to hopefully pick up my goods and if he does his job today, some goodies for some of you guys as well. Keep your fingers crossed.

There you go, OP. If you aren't a scammer, you should be all over that deal. $75 more than you asked him for, and you don't even have to wait for the money. Wmacmonagle is a personal friend of mine (local to me) and is good people. You certainly don't need to worry about meeting him or his family. If you don't go for this deal, then I don't see how this can be anything but a scam.

My reason for not dealing with wmac is his attitude towards me. He called for me to be banned over nothing. Now he's bragging about coming from a "mini Mansion family" and offering 400. I'd rather do business with someone who's been nice from the start even if it means less money. Besides, I never asked for 400.
