Quote from: rolins on 10/05/2007, 01:41 AMI finally finished watching all 76 episodes + movies of Hajime no Ippo. Story revolves around Ippo, a wimpy kid, turned feather-weight pro boxer who eventually becomes national champion. Definitely worth checking out if your into anime, boxing, and comedy. I'm currently trying to catch up on the manga.

I've herd of the serise and i've all ways thinking of checking it out.

Btw it was release in the u.s under the name fighting spirit.
Yeah, I heard it came out in the US but I'd never checked it out b/c I always go straight for fansubs.

Nothing wrong with that you get to watch the whole thing.

Given it can take time for the whole serise to be dub&sub for the u.s officialy.

I was thinking of picking it up but i hate picking up each volume seperately, since i prefer getting a serise as a boxset.

That's great!  Although it would work much better without all of the crap at the front and the tag at the end.  Just let the video be without the nonsense.

Why is there other music playing behind him?  I am also hearing guitar notes (mostly rhythm) that he is clearly not playing.  It would be far more impressive if the Youtube videos had the guitar and only the guitar he was currently playing.

Anyway, I swear I have heard that exact arrangement looooong ago somewhere.  Not new.  Probably at least 8 years old.

Here's a guy playing Soldier Blade intro on guitar. However, he's using the MIDI dl'ed from VGMusic.com.

You might be thinking about Virt's Contravirt, which was an AWESOME .IT, but I don't have the IT anymore and Virt took it down. But here's an MP3 of it:This is why virt is doing the music for Contra IV DS. BECAUSE HE ROCKS AT IT.

I hope so. I used to think OCRemix ruled, but now all they care about is the gear, they don't give 2 shits about the music.  I hate OCR now, I want VGMix back!!!

I haven't been to OCR for a long time.  I used to be a mod and a judge there (as well as a remixer, obviously).  Maybe I banned you?  I hope so.  :)  Anyway please explain the "gear" fetish a little more if you can, I'm curious as to what that is all about.  I know they rejected my Ecco tunage because they felt it was "too short" at 3.5 minutes long.

I did submit a few things to VGMIX as well, but that site quickly went away.  Virt went apeshit on OCR one day and a bunch of people left.  Fun times.

Actually OCR was one of the places I never got banned at, mostly because I never stepped out of the Remixing 101 forums, and never posted much at all really.

Anyway, the gear fetish is mainly that they don't accept remixes unless it sounds like the newest, hottest shit on the market. This makes the remixes a lot of trance and a lot of orchestral. I have not experienced this previously, as I have never actually submitted anything to them. Also if you get on DJ Pretzel's good side, you can bypass the judge's panel, which is just wrong. OCR is the Catholic Church of the game remixing world. (I'm sorry if that offended anyone, but it has to be said).

The newer remixes have great aural quality, but are not very catchy or memorable. That's WAAAY different when OCR was pretty much brand new (and just got featured in EGM), when 90% of the mixes were catchy, and there was just a fun vibe there. Now it just seems pretentious.
Forgive me, my brain is on par with the Bubble System.

I definitely agree about the pretentious part.  I think that perhaps the judges are taking their fake, non-paying jobs a bit too seriously.  I think they just like having authority.  Has anyone complained on their forums about this?  Don't e-mail DJ Pretzel, he doesn't even respond to my e-mails any more.  He is now the king of pretentious, it seems.  That's why virt and a whole bunch of others left.

Keranu

Joe I still swear that you made a remix of a song from Crackdown that was posted on some site! The site even had a picture of you!

I think a LOT of people left after that one dude went AWOL (was it Wingless or Protricity)? After seeing pixetrix go emo because the song she provided vocals for ROYALLY SUCKED (Sonic 3 Lover's Reef, the first mix unanimously bashed by a forum EVER), I decided that if OCR wanted to be MySpace, it was time to leave.

Anyway, your remixes ruled (ROBOVOICE!!!), as well as virt's, and MAZEDUDE'S (RIVER CITY RAMMSTEIN) and blind's, and Disco Dan's, Rayza's, and like 5 others who I can't think of. DJPretzel also had some notable hits, but not many.

EDIT: OK, back to topic:

Ya mean avgn james doesn't go by the name ann any more.

Still while ppl complain he's ripping off the avgn.I don't remember there being a copy rights, for cussing and making the review's for entertainment purpose's.

Some of his reviews are a bore and some are amuseing.

I do think the IVG could do better though on the reserach part...far as the origin go's on some games.
