@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

No limits! Post a list of your favorite games and whatever you want to say about them!

Basically, if you could have a dream arcade (but the games had to exist in real life) what would you fill it with?

You can include those too. I meant basically no making up games like HOLOGRAPHIC STARFIGHTER 3D! They have to be real games, but emualted counts too. :)

I think he actually meant played in person, not on Mame.

I own the majority of arcade stuff I want already. Most of it is MVS anyway, but also other favs like Survival Arts,Time Killers, and my japanese pcb of POW. Most of the stuff like R-Type,Ninja Spirit, and others I actually enjoy playing the ports more.

I agree with Joe, Spare Harrier all the way.

I have Twinkle Star Sprites on my Dreamcast, which I can only assume is virtually a direct emulation of the arcade. It's one of my favorite games, although I must admit I've never actually played it in an arcade.

Oh, and the English in that game is just priceless. TOO CUTE.

No, the Dreamcast version gets rid of the slowdown

I like the slowdown, thankfully there is an option to enable it.  8)

I have a Street Fighter 1 (6-button) dedicated machine... there's only a few other games I'd like to have.

- Street Fighter 1 (2 button) - I actually have a set of buttons but I'd like to have a 6-button machine and a 2 button machine
- tecmo bowl
- street fighter 2 champion edition dedicated
- double dragon
- double dragon 2

Turbo D

man, I would love to try it with the original arcade buttons. Every time I play street fighter I know that I could be doing better on the original arcade. Ever since you showed us the pix of the control panel, I've been searching for the arcade.

I'm in California too so if you find one, let me know!

I used to work with an arcade Technician based in Martinez... he was operating one of the old cabinets at a place called Aladino's Pizza but it was also converted to 6 buttons and he was running Marvel vs Capcom in it... That was about 5 years ago so I don't know if it's still there...

Parts for the dedicated cabinet like the control panel overlays, the marquee, and the sideart are extremely hard to find.

Turbo D

I'll let you know if I find one or any parts. Its harder now since most of the arcades here are out of business.

Jossshhhhh...Legendary TurboTrollX-16: He revenge-bans PCE Developers/Ys IV Localizers from PCE Facebook groups and destroyed 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Josh and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner (extortion/blackmail!), never himself nor his deranged, destructive, toxic turbo troll gang!

SNKNostalgia

I don't think I have played any arcade game as much back in the day as Final Fight. Maybe when SF2 came out it was my favorite at the time, but I still didn't rack up as many hours of play as with FF.

Some other arcade greats that I grew up playing since they were always around:

Sly Spy
GI Joe
DJ Boys
Turtles Arcade and In Time
Simpson's
X-men
Operation Thunderbolt
Aliens
Combat Tribes
After Burner 2 the sit down version
Desert Assault

rag-time4

I loved Gi Joe!

That game throws hordes of enemies at you! I remember the first time I played it I only had $1.50 or so.... pure adrenaline!!

SNKNostalgia

The game looks really good and I have been hearing it is very fun. It is really suppose to be $2 per play or less, from what most places have been charging. Pretty damn wrong of them to charge that much for a game that has been out for a year already. The price should go down when they realize people are only spending $6 on it  ](*,) .

That reminds me that Ace Combat 22 was a pretty cool arcade game back in 96 or so. It had Dreamcast quality graphics and was in a sit down with a stick, throttle and even foot rudders. It was only $1 per play, which was typical for all sit down cabs.

Its only 1 token to play at Chuckie Cheese near where I live. I played it alot. Its fucking great, esp when you slow everything down. It has the hydrolic chair too, that totally enhances its play. Also you get to select your paths, like Outrun.

I read that it doesn't include remixes or arrangements of the old tracks though, which is disappointing. Remade Sega ganes are ALWAYS supposed to have remixes or arrangements of the old tracks!

It was slated for 360 (it's basically a 360 powering the game), but whether it comes out now is up in the air because it's not doing so hot a.k.a PEOPLE LIKE YOU are around who do not play it.

So thanks for possibly getting the 360 game I was looking forward to all year canceled, Joe.  :x
