On sale: $40
http://www.microcenter.com/product/485911/240gb-3d-mlc-nand-sata-iii-6gb-s-25-internal-solid-state-driveQuoteGet SSD speeds and inject new life into your laptop or desktop PC with a solid state drive from Inland Professional. With a fast, reliable Inland Professional SSD, you will experience quicker boot-up and shutdown, quicker application response and data transfer speeds than with a typical hard disk drive without purchasing a new computer.I bought this a year ago, but I'm really happy with the product and I know some people here shop at MicroCenter which is where I bought my first home PC (Compaq Presario) in 1996 so wanted to pass the deal along. Great computer/electronics store, so many great gadgets wind up in there some times for dirt cheap, especially with open-box markdown sales when items are returned. So anyway, I recommend the SSD upgrade if you're still using a 7200 RPM spinner in your desktop or tower PC...

Had I waited a year or so though, I would've purchased the next model up for 480GB which is more comfortable while still using a secondary 1-2TB spinner for long-term storage of videos, photos, music, projects, backup, etc.
The 480GB is also on sale for $70!

Quote from: NightWolve on 06/01/2018, 09:24 PMAfter the horror that was the Last Jedi this is the kind of movie I might watch on Netflix with friends to sit and make snide comments and make fun of. I wouldn't pay to see this in theatres.
Does anybody care about the new SW tale, "Solo: A Star Wars Story" ?? Will you "help Solo out" at the box office ?
Word on the street is that relative to Star Wars standards Solo is bombing, BUT, if you alter the standards by judging it as "some heist movie" instead (as some spinmeisters suggest), well, then it's the greatest opening weekend for such a genre... ;)
Personally I just can't get too excited after seeing the last one at theaters (I like Rogue One the most though)... So yeah, I'm not gonna help Solo out myself... I'll happily wait till it hits video. Sorry Solo/Disney, just not feeling it anymore (Star Wars magic), gonna sit this one out, but good luck all the same! :/

Quote from: NightWolve on 04/10/2018, 11:51 PMI bought a Windows 7 Professional Product Key for only $2.53. Now that they're dirt cheap, as Win 7 support is good for another 2 years and the free Windows 10 upgrade period is over, I said why not to fully complete my upgrade from Vista finally. I didn't trust these key sellers, I didn't think Windows Activation was gonna work, but it did so purty cool to get that out of the way!Was this 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 at that price?
I think Windows 7 was the cleanest OS Microsoft produced, all the best of XP & Vista and less of the worst. Windows 8.1 moved the OS into the tablet craze of interface design, same with Windows 10 but with more spying like Google's Android, pretty much moving it to that model.
Well, I dunno how long I should stick with it, but I'll see how it goes in the next 2 years for my home PC. All my tablets are Windows 10 now (up'ed free from 8.1), and my phones are Android, so I have them all at my disposal to continue learning from on occasion.
Listing was quickly deleted after seller finished off his batch, but you just eBay search "windows 7 key" to find others.

But I guess if it works who cares!
EDIT: Just got a new thing!
The Summon Night 6 Wonderful Edtion for the Playstation Vita is here!
Released by Gaijinworks this LE is pretty amazing, and they definitely set the bar high with this one when it comes to production values.
Besides the game itself there is a double-sided poster, character plush, full CD soundtrack, coaster set with headshots, and a 200 page hardbound artbook! To keep it all together it comes in a heavy chipboard box with full color printing all over and magnets to keep it closed and with a helpful pull ribbon for opening.
It was a long time coming, but man was it worth it.
Quote from: johnnykonami on 11/07/2017, 09:58 AMDE is so painfully generic but now when I look at it I wonder if it was more ineptitude or rather some misguided attempt at evoking cubism? Whether or not the style was intentional, it doesn't get me pumped for exploring dungeons.I hear the lady who did it went on to do greater things in the art world.

Quote from: Bloufo on 02/10/2017, 11:50 AMThose Euro pads are more than just a little improvement over what you guys Stateside received.Just about anything short of the 5200 controller would be. With that said the little disc you plugin doesn't make that pad any less stiff and the two action buttons are small.
Quote from: EvilEvoIX on 01/29/2017, 09:08 PMYou may want to get replacement sticks as the tops of all of those analog sticks appear to be missing.
I already have a couple of Game Cubes but never had 1st Party Controllers, they are so much better than my shitty 3rd party units I bought from 5 Below. I paid $20 for this total which I feel is good.
Quote from: Bloufo on 01/30/2017, 12:44 AMAnd a CD32.Some of those Amiga ports to CD32 bug up due to the fact that someone hacked them to run off CD. It's likely not your system but just the port.
Advertised as having "issues reading certain discs". Tested it with a few games as well as with some unofficial CD32 ports. It plays everything fine.
What I did find on occasion though was that sometimes it would give me a kind of error message like "cannot execute file, not enough memory". Pressing the reset button though seemed to do the trick, and the game would load and play fine afterwards.

Quote from: SamIAm on 08/08/2016, 09:37 PMIt's time to get some crap out of my house.I'm interested. PM incoming
I have five PC-FX systems that I bought "broken" and fixed by increasing the power of the lasers via a tiny turn of one potentiometer. Each one has performed without error during half-hour tests, and I'll test each one again before I send anything out.
Obviously, this isn't as good as having a system that works with the original setting. There is also the fact that each system comes alone and, aside from one of them, all have yellowed to varying degrees. That's why I'm going to price them low: $20.
The dingiest looking one on the left with the memory-card door broken off, I'll let you have for $15.
The pretty one, I will combine with the box/manuals for my own system and offer for $40. Note that this still comes without a controller.
If you would like a controller, I might be able to source you a brand-new one. The supply looks limited, and it will have to be shipped to me first, but you can have it for $20 total. Please understand that this is the only source I'm willing to go through to provide a controller.
The system weighs 2.9 kilograms according to the spec sheet, so shipping from Japan to the US via EMS will probably be 8000 yen. That lets us go up to 4.5 kilograms, which we'll want for packaging. If you want a controller or the pretty one with the box, let's go with 8700 yen just to be safe (that allows 5.0 kilograms). Economy air mail looks like it will be around 6500 yen. Surface mail (2-3 months) is about 4000 yen.
Shipping might be slightly stalled while I search for suitable packaging from free sources. If you would like me to hurry, consider adding $2 so I can just buy a box at the post office. Padding will be newspaper; if you want something more fancy, that's fine, but it might incur its own fee.
If it sounds like I'm being stingy, just remember that my profit margin on this is next to nothing, and I could go in the red very easily if I get hit for a couple of dollars on each system.
I'll ship to any country, as long as you pay the cost.
If you're interested, let me know via PM. Thank you!
Quote from: csgx1 on 04/28/2016, 04:17 PMI picked up a Innovation Multi-system arcade stick somewhat recently. I was never in the market for a joystick but I picked it up because it was cheap and surprisingly it's compatible with the Turbo Duo/PC Engine.I bought one of these off of Amazon a few years ago. Several buttons were totally dead. I wound up returning it at a loss for shipping.
Probably not talked about much since it's kind of hard to find and basically a generic brand. I'll give my opinion on the Innovation stick if anyone cares to know.
I usually prefer controllers, so I don't have a lot of experience with various console joysticks. I've never used the TurboStick or NES Advantage so I don't know how those compare. I did grow up playing SFII and Neo Geo fighting games in the arcades.
The Innovation stick seems good, but probably far from the best. It does use micro switches. Best feature is that it works with 4 consoles: PC Engine, SNES, Genesis, and Neogeo. Also has turbo and slow motion functions. Negatives: the overall weight is light(all plastic case) and the overall size seems a bit small. Buttons feel a little flimsy/loose and the button spacing is kind of wide.
Plays well with the SFII ports and fighting games that I've tried on the PC Engine, SNES, and Genesis. Fighting moves and combos are easy to pull off. I haven't tried too many other types of games but for the most part the stick controls well.
With shooters, action or other type of games I'll still grab a controller instead because that's what I'm used to. For me, a joystick is not an essential piece of hardware, but having the Innovation stick is great for casual use with my fighting games that it works with.

I tried it in a room that's decently lit. Unsurprisingly, it really needs a darkened room to be effective.
Quote from: guest on 11/02/2015, 05:10 PMThis is the same premise as using retrobrite. I normally use 20% vol liquid from Sally Beauty per the king of peroxide Arkhan. Quote from: Damon Plus on 09/17/2015, 04:04 AMAnyways, I bought one cheap a few years ago and is the one I use to play. What intrigues me is that the system didn't have RF antenna, and not much TVs had AV back in the early 90's.The accessory box came with an RF switch.
Quote from: guest on 08/26/2015, 11:33 AMSo patience was the key here. I was keeping an eye out at the thrift for these kinds of units and have mixed luck until last night when this bad boy showed up:Did you get a remote with it?
It's a Panasonic DMR-EZ48V and my initial tests with it show it will work quite nicely for what you recommended, I am going to need to spend a bit of time figuring out how it fully works though. I tested it last night a bit with a couple VHS tapes though and it looks quite nice. I also tested external input with a game system and it was playing fine. Time to get some DVD+RW discs and start messing around!
