Once you have the center post on the lower level its time to go for the extra ball. You want to max out the board and get into the alien mouth. From bottom to top I think there are 5 round lamps then a 7X then a 5000 then 9 eyes.

The center post you get by destroying the 2 sets of 3 aliens that pop up and down toward the top right and left. I can't remember 100% but you have to destroy nine or 3 sets or something.

Interesting stuff, do you have any idea exactly how Gunheds rank system works? I haven't looked into it specifically but I think it just works off of your power up level. An easy setting for low power, a normal setting for in the middle and a hard setting for high power. The high power area seems to only kick in with certain maxed out weapon combos afaik. I've only really noticed it on the second level boss, most of the time he only shoots 1 triangle tracking-missile but with certain maxed out weapons like a II and F combo he will shoot two triangle missiles. I assume other stuff gets ramped up too, but not sure.

I wonder if it works like this..  non selectable Easy, Normal Dog(default), Hard Human, Super Mania, God of Game, non selectable Hardest and it just switches 1 up or 1 down depending on your power up level. If this is the case, it could mean we could hack in the two extra modes.  :-k I could be entirely wrong..

Have you tried any of the higher difficulties yet? I usually play on Hard Mode (hard human) which seems more like Normal and how the game is suppose to be played, and Normal Dog seems like an easy mode..
After playing hard human most of the time, when you play normal dog its like playing in slow motion.

The game is pretty interesting in that it also has sub-difficulty levels (not sure what to call it) depending on your power up level while your playing. More noticeable on higher difficulties when you take a hit and all the sudden the enemy fire slows down. A neat mechanic though since it makes it easier to recover from losing a life or taking a hit compared to other shooters.

yeah I mean Sidearms isn't the greatest but its a decent game. I think a lot of people don't know you can switch weapons in the pause menu. Took me a while to figure that out bitd

Hey I got an idea guys.. I like Kieth Courages art so much, let's make a pack in poster with KC and some other generic characters. Make sure we add Dick Tracy, Dinosaurs and the Devil! Kids love that stuff.. oh don't forget Baseball... have a player yelling sports for sports games. Bring the Kieth art down to two colors so he blends in. Add checkers and small screen shots from our games!!!

uuhh yeah.. so back to the glitch. I think I figured out how it works you need to only have one skull left, no aliens
and make it in the left port. Also the chime that plays when the ship gets destroyed sounds  kinda like sound test 40 on Blazing Lazers, did Naxat use it in both games? ..it sounds slightly different. (have to turn up the sound to hear it in the clip). I'm trying to get a better vid here but it's not exactly the easiest bonus round.

I was playing some AC tonight and when I was in the bonus room with the sculls I noticed the ports that eject the ball were glitching a bit so I got the camera and this showed up.. it looks like the Gunhed ship with dark colors. I think it appears in the top hole but I was messing with the camera and didn't catch it very good. Any one else have this happen?

I noticed I got an extra ball when I killed it.
Lucky I had the ipad next to me to catch the glitch, I thought my game was about to self destruct.  :-k It played fine afterwards so not sure. I'm gonna try to get it to happen again here...

So whats changed?
The image now only contains 512 colors, no anti aliasing text or absolute whites
Fixed one of the swatches that was incorrect I think it was 180 72 216 in the second row
Got rid of the duplicate color clusters
Rearranged and made the image smaller
Made a dark version

Also I made a swatch file for Photoshop

Go to your Photoshop folder then /Presets/Color Swatches. paste the .aco file

Let me know if there are any problems.

I noticed Ps can be a bit picky when you manually use the color slider, fill something than sample it again. it will alter the color numbers slightly( example 72 36 0) will change to 73 37 or something. I think this only happens in the default 8bit (rgb) mode and appears to not happen if you switch to 16bit or over to indexed. Anyone else have this problem?

I think the latest RetroPie builds default to crisp pixes but not 100% sure.
I had the same problem, its the resolution when in the emulator.
 go to... Retropie Setup_Confgig/Tools_Config Edit_CBasicEmuOpt_PCE_Render Res then set it to video output res
You have to do this in the other systems too afaik. After that there is also bilinear filtering you can turn off but the main problem is the resolution.
The RetroPies config menus are not very fun  :(

5stage- meh doesnt matter you only get a friend for short time

I feel like moo moo is the most powerful so I use him on 2 since he can destroy all that garbage.

Make sure you have the proper roms, same name as the cheat, example
hexalter -i "Air Zonk (U) [h1].ips" 0x2B5B=0xA5 &:: Infinite Lives (20B2)
you need the rom Air Zonk (U) [h1].pce you need the (U) [h1] version
I think lunar ips will patch a rom successfully even if its the incorrect rom
otherwise you could try a different rom because some have a header and some don't
lastly you can manually apply the cheat in a hex editor but you still may need to account for weather or not the cheat was using a rom with a header.
If you want to let me know what game I can take a look.

edit: After a closer look, though your more likely to have a matching rom with the same version ([h1] in this case) its most likely just the header/no header issue.

Copy that, but rule 9 is a little iffy, Alien Crush has an ending/congratulations screen. Word on the streets is it takes around 40 hours to beat Alien Crush. So for rule 9 are we just going for beating the ingame highscore on pinball games?

Good thing I had the cam nearby and started snapping, the game doesn't pause in the ending at all and just goes back to the title screen.

After 25 years of this games music giving me nightmares..I can take it out back and destroy it .../put it back on the shelf
