Works perfectly with no CD-read issues. Sound works fine. Only thing I experienced with my Duo was with the Wonder Boy In Monsterland Hu-card game. The hu-card would not load initially. I had to slide the card back a bit to get the game to work properly. There were a few other instances where loading a hu-card failed to a screen of gibberish, which resetting always resolved. Includes AV cables, adapter, and one controller pad in working condition. Some surface scratches near CD-lid opening.

I'll never forget seeing Akira for the first time in the late 80's, that pretty much sold me on the world of anime.

Here's a few that I've enjoyed through the years:

Demon City Shinjuku - Just a great mindless romp in a city full of demons, great action.
Black Magic M66 - This has become one of my favorite works of Masamune Shirow, starring a female android assassin with a license to kill.
Record of Lodoss War - The first series was pretty epic and unforgettable. It's like anime's nod to Dungeons & Dragons.
Berserk - One of the most insanely violent cartoons I've ever seen. Think that's bad? Read the manga...
Blue Gender - Contender for my favorite anime ever. Love the sci-fi feel of a desolate Earth overrun by giant bugs. Bugs you say? Bring out the mechs!
Devilman Lady - Surprisingly underrated, a model turns into the devil lady to fight monsters...and her own madness along the way.
Ergo Proxy - High quality sci-fi anime here.

My main man Dalder send me this boom parcel from the states and it arrived recently. Managed to get a few games I've after for a while, plus copped a few of the cheaper ones he was offering to make it my best TG bundle to date. Cant wait to get some time and sit down with a few beers and a lot of spare time and play these.

I am most looking forward to Neutopia and Splatter house. Never played either before so i'm popping my cherry here folkes.

I hear Insanity has some pretty good chiptunes, lol.

I might be offering up the soundtrack soon on the cheap.  PCe chiptunes are sexy.  They dont have the very typical "done with nerdtracker or a C64" sound.

I have to say, the music in Insanity is awesome. I'd definitely be up for hearing the soundtrack.

By the way, does anyone know a surefire way to extract HES files from a CD-Rom game? From what I hear it's a process that requires a lot of background knowledge about how PCE games work, of which I'm devoid of...I really want to capture some great chiptune tracks on a few games that aren't already available anywhere else.

Doesn't Jim Power have only one tune?  I know the Mega Drive version has but one track.  I really like Chris Hülsbeck's (or however you spell his name) arrangement of it located on some non-game music CD with arrangements of his tunes.  I haven't heard the PCE arrangement of the tune yet.

No, this version has a track for every level as well as boss music...and it is a surprisingly good soundtrack. Check out the music for level 3, it's my fav:

And I just checked out the Mega Drive song which ironically is the same as the song for Level 3.

I heard that Jim Power has very good graphics but horrible controls. Let us know how it plays.

Actually, I know that Jim Power is known to be bad but I'm going to go against the grain...I love this game. The controls really aren't that bad. The one hit kills might get annoying if you like to rush through levels, and the jumping takes some getting used to. But I find the game enjoyable enough to play through...I haven't beat it yet though. There is also a cheat mode that can add to the fun, but I want to try to beat the game before messing around with it.

If you want to talk horrible controls...Slime World takes the win. What a slug-fest. I had high hopes for this game too.

I brought these but forgot to check if the xbox games are forwards compatable. Sadly Capcom Classics is not (yet), which is a real shame as there are some excellent games on there I was looking forward to playing. I was even thinking of getting an arcade stick to play them with (22 in total including Super Ghouls and Ghosts). Hope fully they make it compatable with the 360 one day.

Sadly if the game is not compatible with the 360 it likely never will be. The good news is that an original XBOX console can be had for cheap...check your local pawn shops you can get one for around $20.

Here's everything I picked up over the weekend through today...particularly stoked about the mail-order only Boba Fett since I sent in for well after the deadline, so surprised I got it. Can't wait to dig into Startling Odyssey II using the translation patch, and that's a brand new copy of Brandish which I subsequently opened and drooled over. Also picked up Earth Defense Force 2 and R.A.D. (sooo underrated) for PS2 and found Thousand Arms for $20. Lastly, going to feed the PC some space shooters...and thanks again RR1980 for Hellfire S!

MC = Magical Chase.  MMIII = Might and Magic 3, which I talk about two paragraphs down. 
If you got $150 for MMIII several years ago, I'd say you did quite well!

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Re: Is there a Turbo/PCE price guide floating around out there?]

Since I've restarted collecting Turbo/PCE games about a year ago I've often referrenced www.racketboy.com and the rare and valuable article for the Turbografx/PCE. Its a good way to get a good "starting point" and then use your own judgement and some common sense. That article also references this forum so I'm guessing at some point there was a survey here to get a rough estimate of the value of those games.

After looking at the other titles a lot of games are way off the mark. If you are looking for a good deal on a nice selection of PCE games, I doubt you'll find it there...sadly.
