well I had KFC earlier in a restaurant because it started to snow and needed some shelter.. stomach and bowels not feeling well now..

I think if it could put people in the hospital I would have been there many, many times by now as a direct result.

I would think that anything fast food wise if eaten to much would eventually get you, say in 20 to 30 years. Then again that would go for anything with enough fat to stop your heart. then there is weird crap like this

"Expirament"

sounds scien-fuckin'-tific!

Fast foods fine as long as you aren't wackin down 2 super size meals a day, every day.

I eat fast food 2-3 times a week.  It's usually like 3 gorditas and nacho supreme, or a chicken nugget value meal, or maybe a bigmac one.

healthy food can put you in the hospital too.  If you eat too many apples, you can die.

If you drink too much water, you can die.

Everything can kill you.

I've seen people go to McDonalds when its that "buy a bigmac meal, get another bigmac for 30 cents" thing, and wack down 4 bigmacs and wonder why they have chest pains though.

I want a Bigmac now.  fuck this thread.

Oh, man! I wish you hadn't said that! I got an awful and I *do* mean AWFUL case of food poisoning from a KFC once.
The pain was so, intense that I literally thought that I would end up in the hospital within the week and die there.

I've never felt anything so miserably painful in my life except for maybe a kidney stone attack.

I'm not here to defend McDonalds, but the speed at which food rots has absolutely nothing to do with how good or bad it is for you. Nothing whatsoever.

HercTNT

True, the rate at which something rots does not mean its bad, but it does give a good indication of what it might be made of.  If the fat dont get you, the chemicals will.

Its my understanding that honey is the only known food that never goes bad, anything else is unnatural.

Unnatural is an easy word to envoke a negative feeling. But unnatural doesn't always equal bad for you.

HercTNT

right, i didnt quite mean it like that, that was kinda a blanket statement. At any rate, my main point was the chemicals that mcdonalds uses in its products in reference to the happy meal.

RegalSin

KFC is not really that bad at all, it is just the usage of gravey. What really put KFC in the grave is mistreatment of chickens.

This video was an old video. This is also an old problem.
Years ago back in 1989, the news reported that Mcdonalds french fries are made of silicone, or steraphone ( or something like that ). That time I was thinking to myself ( when I did not understand anything,
Mcdonald fries are fake ).

More recently a woman in Europe, passed out, and it was discovered her mother has been feeding her nothing but chicken-Mcnuggets. Yes those same ones.

Speaking of unhealthy it is found that drinking soda for long periods of time will weaken bones. Some people it is faster then others. Because of the excess sugar and ammounts of carbon. Weak bones and weak teeth.

It is like the rings in a tree, or tusks in an Elephant.
Your bones are evidence of continuesly being damaged
over time.

QuoteI don't have that issue.  I can eat like 20 of those things and be fine.  PUSSIES
Once you become 26 ( the age where marienes does not want you, which is the commercial old age in the west ( which it is not ) ) you will start seeing signs of the damage those kinda foods will do to your body. You will not notice it but it will be on a microscopic level.
Your body will reflect the constant usage over time.

It is like the same thing with people who use un-othro dox methods to gain muscle mass. They all are die early.

100 years on this planet is not a long time at all. A 200 year old man also went missing in my area. It was on television and the radio for a long time. A 200 year old living man. A 300 year old man was reported on television, living in nothing but greens and is still climbing trees.

Well, guys, I have decided to cut junk food out of my menu except for on the weekend and I've been dieting during the week on salads, baked fish, corn, mushrooms and garlic.
I've also cut out soft drinks and mostly drink spring water.

Not only am I beginning to feel younger but, healthier, happier and loosing weight at a rapid rate.

Trying to eat like Goku, Coop and Pac-Man is nothing to be proud of and sooner or later you'll regret trying to achieve that "Fat Albert" or "I can eat anything I want and not gain an ounce" status.

I used to be a skinny guy who bragged that way and made fun of fat people too.
It came back on me and I deserved it.

Don't be naive. Take care of your body and it will take care of you.

Why do you choose spring water? Is it just a taste thing or do you believe it's better for you?

Well, it does taste a little better and it seems like it should be better, coming from a spring and all instead of that nasty ol' tap water but, who knows?

Anyone can put water in a bottle and print words on the label about how it comes from a natural spring in the Blue Ridge mountains and is bottled at the source and so on.

I've never understood the desire for bottled water. At least in the UK (not sure about US) tap water is subject to stricter regulations, and studies have shown that it often contains a lot more bacteria than tap water. The whole spring water thing is a marketing gimmick. And let's not forget all the waste plastic bottles that are generated by this bottled water.

I wont make fun of people for their weight, it's horrifically insensitive, and I know a lot of people who are struggling with losing inches off of their waists (except Chris Christie, the NJ Governor. He is a fucking lardass. And If I can't say that the terrorists have won.)

I still have the occasional batch of french-fries from In-N-Out.

Soda is the biggest culprit, even Diet soda causes your body to retain water. When I hit my late 20's, I cut soda, started working out, and drastically changed my diet paying attention to food allergies. Fueling properly isn't something you can do on McShit or wherever.

If I told people what my diet was like, I'd probably get called a tree-hugging hippy or some other such nonsense, so here we go. My "Junk Food" is the occasional Deli Sandwich (not subway) or home-cooked cajun/creole food (i.e. jumbalaya, etoufee, red beans & rice with hot sauce, gumbo, a crawfish po' boy, etc.). Other than that, I eat mostly vegan or vegetarian meals during the week with no dairy products.

Note: this image is for visual reference from wikipedia: mine looks 300x more appetizing.

IMG

If it's homemade, or grilled at a barbecue, I'm not adverse to the occasional hanhburger. It is, however, a special-occasion thing.

That said, beer is a staple in my diet. I try to have one every night, the stronger the better.

About three weeks ago, this pic would have made me drool with a lusty hunger.
Now it just looks disgusting.
This diet I'm trying out is actually turning me against one of my greatest loves.
It's unusual but, it's nice too.
I really do feel better and my pants keep falling down.

VestCunt

Yes, fast food/junk food/malnutrition might land you in the hospital.  We eat garbage and whichever organ fails first is the "disease" that we get. A third of us suffer from obesity, yet we blame genetics, staple stomachs, and ignore how the conventional diet has changed.  Everyone has cancer and we wait for a silver bullet to cure the symptom without looking for a cause.

Quote from: guest on 02/05/2012, 03:14 PMI've never understood the desire for bottled water. Bottled water is a gimmick and the amount of plastic waste is insane, but, unfortunately, most of our tap water in the U.S. is fluoridated.  I buy gallon jugs of distilled or reverse osmosis water and refill them (hmmm...leaching plastic.  yum).  Fluoride from coffee shops and restaurants is hard to avoid.

It's a good indication of both nutritional content and how easily the food can be digested.  When the smallest lifeforms can't find anything worth eating, I'm inclined to follow their lead.  There's something creepy about french fries that are no longer part of the food chain.  Likewise, oils hydrogenated to the point of car wax are unlikely to travel far in the ol' colon.
I'm a cunt, always was. Topic Adjourned.

QuoteBottled water
Bottled water is good for many reasons. The water that travels threw the pipes might have a certain amount of acidity  ( or was it floride ) inside of it. In villages and undeveloped areas, the water might contain micro-organisms. The flat fact is that water from natural sources will make soft bones, ( and thus damage your teeth ).

Bottled water is sappose to be free of these harmfull contaminents. If they can't get it from Antartica ( which is where they sappose to get it from ), they will get it from nearby lake sources.

However these lake sources, some of which nearby houses recieves and dumps waste in. Some sources.

As the water travels from the north pole, and empties out in the Gulf, it picks up many things.

Mineral water ( the best tasting water in my life ) will often be sweet, and is from a pump. Then of course people baths in the streams, which I do not understand why would you go camping to use soap in a stream.

About plastic bottle water. Plastics are allways moving, so reusing or using plastics is not advised. You can go and find out for yourself.

Bottled water is sappose to be in glass bottles. I forget the name of the water brand but you see it being drinked by celebraties all the time. That is the only real bottled water anybody should be drinking.

Soyilent geens are people. Natural food sources are not among technological advance societies. If so then it is a
privlage for those who work extra hard enough, just to live slightly longer.

Careful, Ves. Being informed and trying to inform others is an honorable move but, you have to be careful how much you say and how you say it.
I've already learned that the hard way.

HercTNT

I live about 5 miles from a water bottling plant called Castle in the clouds. You can actually take a tour of the place and they will show you how they bottle it up. Well atleast how they do it at this place. If you check the bottles they say bottled from PWS.  Turns out PWS means Public Water Supply. Sure they filter it and all, but its coming straight from the same tap that everyone else gets their water around here. To be fair most of us were I live have wells, so maybe they do to, i have no idea.

Its my understanding that honey is the only known food that never goes bad, anything else is unnatural.
My point is that the human digestive system doesn't utilize random spores from open air to break things down. Obviously McD fries have no trouble being digested by humans since the people who eat the most of them are fat as hell. If they were indigestible you'd just have diarrhea or constipation.

Regarding this thread as a whole: its good that people pay attention to what they eat, but do try to be scientifically informed. The world is full of fat vegetarians and people who's cholesterol is through the roof because they were trying to avoid carbs. Avoid fads (current examples: "gluten free", or anything that sites "glycemic index") and stick with what has always worked; balance your caloric intake with your exercise level, try to match the USRDA, eat a vitamin. The simple basic shit. You can still eat at McDonalds (if, for some fucking reason, you actually want to) just don't day there 11 times a week.

I'm generally not that picky when comes to deciding what to eat since I run 8-10 miles every day, so any extra fat I ate I burn off in the run.

I cook a lot, and my friends do too, so there's always something good.  I had my friends beef bourginion (sp?) for lunch today (no veggies though!) and I have a delicious aubergine lasagna to go home to (cooked for my veggie friend).  So in that regard I have a pretty good diet.  I try not to snack out too much, and when I do I try to have a youghurt or something healthy.  But I do need to eat more veg, and I do get cravings for a chicken royale.

Oh but hell you should see the pizzas I cook.  I'd say it's almost as good as you can get outside of a pizza oven.  Took me a fair few to nail it down though.

I just eat healthy during the week...usually it's like tuna, fruits, salady crap, soup whatnot.  It's all pretty decent.

the weekends:  Twinkies, slim jims, beefaroni, big macs, whatever.  Usually ends up being Rally's or Taco Bell.  I don't binge eat the stuff, I just go out and get enough to stop making me hungry.

Bottled water is stupid.  I like drinking metal.
