I have no idea what that means as even Google can't translate it.  I can only guess that you brokenly said "get a special guest"???

turboswimbz

I would say something more along the lines of it's a good special.
NW: Hey, I made it on this psycho's Enemies' List, how about that ?? ;)
BT: Look at how the fake SFII' carts instantly sold out and were immediately listed on eBay before the flippers even took possession. Look at Nintendo's overpriced bricks. Look at the typical forum discussions elsewhere. You can't tell most retro gamers anything!

I had the exact same reaction to Neo Turf Masters. I actually got a conversion as part of a Neo home system package I got last year as a freebie, and I just popped it in at random to see what it was like. I really didn't like golf at all.

Holy fucking shit, I've probably played it more than any single Neo game since then. I've played it so much that when my wife and I are playing putt putt, if I make a good shot she goes "ON THE GWEEEEN!!!"

Neo Turf Masters is one Neo Geo game I should buy. Anyone have a AES copy?

I felt exactly like you did about Super Monaco, Joe. I really loved the arcade version and although the Genesis port disappointed it is still a classic in my book. It's a real pity that SEGA hasn't issued the arcade version on a compilation.

I hope you're not serious about getting ntm on the aes,i could of sworn ive seen it reaching $800.00+ :P

Cheapest option for getting that game is on mvs or ngcd.By the way "neo turf master" is worth it and you don't have to be a fan of golf to enjoy the game either.

$800?!?! Nevermind. A CMVS or converter is something I have put off for a long time due to price. I'll get an MVS version once I luck out and score one or the other.

Just watched Game Sack 058 - 16-Bit FMV Madness!

Love the video work and the end sketch :-)  Dam I never knew that there were so many FMV games and I worked at a computer/games store in the 90s!

Looking forward to the other episodes,  great production.  Keep up the good work.

Bernie

Yeah, they do a great job IMO.  I like how they actually make it entertaining, lame jokes and all.  Kinda makes the show for me. I think Dave could take Joe though.....

Just curious, have you guys spent a lot of money in creating the show, or did you already have a camera and most other necessary equipment? Production values feels solid!

We had a lot of the stuff since I'm a video editor by trade. But we (myself and Jen) built a studio for the show in the basement and bought lights, acoustical treatment and other stuff like that.  Also another camera and a bunch of high-end lenses.

Good as always!

Other genre defying:
Panic (SegaCD) - It's just a hot mess
Odama (GC) - Pinball tactical sim?
Seaman (DC) - Okay, so it's sort of like pikachu

I did think of Cabal/Blood Brothers/Nam '75/Gamshara style of games, but they would be more defining "behind that back, target shooter" type games rather than defying.

I'm sure some people will knock me for this, But My favorite arcade game of all time is Daytona USA (*edit:* and 2)!  Nothing better than throwing a ton of money into a machine, sitting on the sticky seat and showing up everyone playing. Even Had a chance to buy a machine a while back but had no where to put it.  Man I hope they get these back in the arcades after they clean up from Sandy.

spenoza

I love Daytona USA, especially with a friend or two, but I have to say that I like SCUD Race and Daytona 2 just as much, if not more, if only because of the improved visuals. Visuals aren't everything, though, because as much as I like Sega Rally 2, I hate the latest Sega Rally in the arcades.

GohanX

Re: Not being able to hear the voice in Daytona USA HD

The crew chief's voice plays out of the rear speakers on a 5.1 setup. Sounds okay on my setup, although I have the rear speakers turned up a little.

we playewd it literally every day. its was the biggest (s)hit sega probably ever hitted into the arcades! very big cinema!
