Alright, rather than having the videos posted sometimes in the "What are you watching on Youtube" thread and sometimes in the "Joe Redifer Reviews Presents" thread (and sometimes cross-posted between the two), they can all go here.

Here is the channel if you are interested in subscribing or doing any of that nonsense.

And here is the latest episode (July 25, 2011):
Some Cool 16-bit Ninja Games
Guess who will be the first to point out any games we missed?  That's right, it will be YOU!

DragonmasterDan

No, Return of the Ninja/Ninja Hayate. No Ninja Combat for Neo-Geo. No Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for Genesis or SNES. Oh and Ninja Warriors for SNES wasn't mentioned either. Tsk tsk.
--DragonmasterDan

nat

I haven't watched it yet, but if you wasted time mentioning the awful port of Ninja Warriors for the Duo I'll be upset.

Joe Redifer

Geez, I hate explaining myself even when I already did in the video.  Affordable game systems!  No Neo Geo, no CD systems.  People seem to like complaining about what we missed more than ANYTHING.  Seriously, it is the one predictable thing about our viewers. Sorry, but there's no way we can cover every game.  We don't own every game.  If this upsets you, please do not watch.  Thanks.

nat

OK, I've had a chance to watch it, and you didn't even mention the Duo version of Ninja Warriors. Great job!

Joe Redifer

I understand the Duo version hatred, but I am not a fan of ANY version of that game.

Tatsujin

I didn't see the video yet (due to the werk), but is ninja spirit in there? (hehe, love to ask redundant questions).

I guess "affordable" is relative. Maybe "Entry level" would have been the better term. Anyway, you asked for ones that were missed in the video. Considering that, expect those kinds of replies.

Great vid Joe!

Joe Redifer

Actually I didn't ask, I said that people would let us know.  I asked them to send us the games if they wanted to see them covered.  We can only cover games we have, yet people are very quick to point out "You missed this, you missed that".  That's why I said what I did in the video.  It is very disconcerting when we hear that.  How are we supposed to respond to that?  I think, after this comment right here, I will completely ignore any "You missed this, that and the other thing" comments because we simply can't go back and add them.

JoshTurboTrollX

You missed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles in Time for the SNES

I thought by the

that you were inviting us to name the titles of Ninja games on 16-bit systems that you missed.

Added in edit: BTW this is the first of your videos I've ever seen and I enjoyed it and watched the whole thing. So nice job!

Thanks.  I don't mean to be an asshole to anybody and I'm sure nobody who is telling me what games I am missing is intending any malice.  But I am a perfectionist and when I hear about games that SHOULD have been included (like Kaze Kiri and Ninja Warriors, I suppose), I get pissed because they really should be in there. Strider and 3 Ninjas not-so-much.  I would have never even thought of Joe & Mac, where does one search for these things (like the word "ninja" with only 16-bit era games as the result)?  But I did let Dave talk me into Mystical Ninja.

The ones I mentioned I named off the top of my head. I'm guessing you could do a GameFaqs.com search by platform and find them that way, but it would do titles only.

I'm pretty sure they mentioned that, and said it just wasn't different enough from the NES version to bother including.

RR1980

they totally forgot Kaze Kiri on the pce!

Joe Redifer

I also made sure to pronounce Ninja Gaiden both ways to please all of the fans: Gay-den and Guy-den.

rag-time4

Havent yet seen the vid, but im disappointed to hear ninja combat wasnt included. It was the first neo geo game i played. Im assuming that games like magician lord werent included, even though you can play as a ninja.

Joe, how about a followup focusing on samurai games!

By the way Joe, i love your show! Havent had the pc on much lately so i have fallen a little behind.

Joe Redifer

That's basically the reason I said "affordable systems of the time" in the video because Ninja Combat immediately came to my mind and I do not have that game.  I want to feature more Neo Geo stuff, but my pickin's are pretty slim.

Tatsujin

You should try to convince someone to trade their PC-FX for your Jag.

Its almost identical to the Duo RX pad actually.  Its not that bad, but its not as good as a good old regular Duo pad.

Also, maybe I should send Game Sack a Laseractive to sample :P
[Sun 23:29] <Tatsujin> we have hard off, book off, house off, sports off, baby off, clothes off, jerk off, piss off etc

Joe Redifer

And sample it I would.  Man I'd love to feature that.

It might be worth the shipping each way to make it happen :D  I'm not sure when my next trip out to Colorado will be, but probably sometime in the next year, could do it then.

They can be shipped for around $25 each way.  If I find myself with an extra $50 or so, it might be worth it to do just that :D

Edit:  One problem... good luck fitting a Laseractive in a sack... you'll need a 55 gallon bag or maybe a pickup truck or something.

I should've sent you my Hori Digital Pad for the GameBoy Player, Joe. I think even you would enjoy the look and feel of one of these. :)

The d-pad of the PC-FX/Duo RX controller is pretty much unusable compared to regular PCE pads and the buttons aren't as responsive and don't feel nearly as nice. It's fine for turn based RPGs and digital comic adventures and such, but it sucks for action games.

Right. But don't get the Duo RX pad confused with the Avenue 6 pad. While the PC-FX pad and the Duo RX pad are the same thing, the Ave 6 is completely different. The D-Pad on an Ave 6 is more or less the same as a standard Duo Pad.

I agree with most of this stuff, except the part about the action buttons. I've never had a problem with those, but that D-Pad has some serious issues.

I don't have a problem with the buttons either, only the d-pad. The buttons just aren't as nice as standard PCE pads, which are my favorite of all time. It just seemed like a step backward at the time. If only the PC-FX used a PCE style connection. I image that you could probably swap out or rewire a PC-FX cable into an Ave 6 pad.

That's the funniest vid yet guys! I lol'd hard when you were trying to put that PS1 RR into its PlayStation.

Road Rash on the 3DO is my favorite of the series just because Soundgarden is featured on the soundtrack.

Joe I hope you know I was kidding with the comment I made on your latest vid.

On another note; just where are my games Joe? Last time I tracked it it was in Sri Lanka. Never ship media mail!

I put "Matt Turner" on the "To" part of the address.  Are you saying that wasn't good enough?  More information is required?  I put "Game Sack" as the return address so it should come back and I can resend.
