@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Ah got ya well say no more. Well if you are ever in the Salem/Keizer area for any old reason, drop me a PM. We can meet up and play some bomberman or DE II. About to to watch the most current episode now Game Sack, looks like without even having watched it yet I already know it's gonna be good lol. Keep up the excellent work guys.

Sarumaru

Ah, so are we sharing Game Sack photos here ?

Thanks for stopping by my booth, Joe. And I thank you and Dave for wearing my shirts on your shows! You guys were very chill and down to earth. Tell Jen she's awesome too :)

Here's the awesome Game Sack duo and a monkey  :3

3D platformers has never exactly been my favorite genre.  That being said, I thought that the Sly Cooper series was magnificent.

Seeing Maximo kinda made me wonder if you guys are doing a Halloween episode.  There's a million spooky games out there.  Resident Evil, Ghosts and Goblins, Splatterhouse, Zombies ate my Neighbors, Alone in the Dark, etc
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

I concur, do one of Temco's Deception 1 for our Satanists fiends out there lol. Besides, it really is a sweet game. Oh yeah, who can forget Nightmare Before Christmas for the PS2?

Shoot, if I had known you were there too we could have met up. :) I got a good picture with them too and got some questions in (could have killed Joe for calling me DildoKKKobold lol) during the Q&A. Unbelievable how fast it went and how many people were losing their voices from talking so much during the convention. Here's me and my buddy that I haven't seen in 14 years.

3D platformers are hit and miss for me, like a case by case basis. There are plenty I like, and plenty I don't. Just depends I guess.

Sorry to see you so under the weather in the latest video, Joe.  Take it easy, feel better, and don't worry about crazy people online who spend all their time complaining about free entertainment.

Nice to have you guys back this week and feeling better.  You look a heck of a lot better than you did last week, that's for sure.

I'm astounded to see you guys finally do Hook, but I gotta' say, I can't believe Dave went the whole game without realizing he could hold "Y" to run or fly faster.  In his defense, it does take a second before the speed kicks in, so it's entirely possible that he tried it and assumed it didn't work.  It's just a shame, considering that was exactly what was keeping him from making it through the corridor of spikes unharmed.  Ah, well.

Bloufo

Nice entry! Although Dave did miss a couple things this episode.
One of his complaints in Yoshi's Story was about the list of fruit kinda clogging up the screen.
You can toggle the on-screen fruit frame off/on.

Good episode however a few items that need to be addressed.

1.    Dave said that you can't run in SNES Hook.  To run you need only hold down Y.  Pretty much like Super Mario.

2.     In Yoshi Story you can toggle off the fruit on the screen, it isn't permanent.

3.     I am not sure that the "wolves" in Altered Beast are Wolves.  I believe that they are oxen

So far in the comments on Youtube, people have thought that they were cows, pigs and somethings else. It's a wolf. Let us reference the manual:

LOL u r WRONG on teh internet!  Ha ha just giving you a hard time, man. :)

As an Altered Beast fan, I always knew they were wolves.

But they don't have three heads, even the illustration in the manual shows two heads.

It's not a misinterpretation by localizations either, in the original arcade version they're called "Albino Raskelt(?) Wolf".

IMG

But that English manual scan is ridiculous for adding an extra head to the description.

Great episode, I'm a big fan of both Altered Beast and China Warrior.

The Genesis version of Altered Beast is not the only home port with a two player mode.  The PC Engine Hucard version does has a two player mode.  PC Engine CD version doesn't for some reason.

This always drove me nuts as I liked the cd audio. At least the SCD version of Final Fight had cd audio and two player mode.

Watching Milon's Secret Castle reminded me of a friend with intellectual disability that got the game as a present. And although the intention of the gift was nice, I always felt bad since that was one of the only games he had to play.

Can't believe Dave missed that run option on hook :)

Speaking of ripped off Cyberpunk, the (great) music in Illusion City (MSX, etc, but especially noticeable in the Mega-CD version) is a rip-off of Jean Michel Jarre's Revolutions album.

That lords of Thunder Music

I got the Sega Cd game for Christmas one year from my girlfriend, I didn't know anything about it and I still remember the moment I started it, heard the cd spin up, and then that guitar rift.

SamIAm

You guys need to get your Virtual Boy on. Galactic Pinball is a blast. It's probably my favorite pinball game. The sore lack of it in this episode inspired me not only to play it, but to go on to have a session of Bound High, which I enjoyed capitally. 8)

Does anyone else have a hard time watching pinball tables with scrolling? Even when it's smooth, the rapid up-down-up-down makes my eyes struggle. Galactic Pinball, like Necronomicon, has the advantage of letting you see the whole table without any scrolling.

CrackTiger

A tate mode 512 x 240 pixel single-screen PCE pinball game would be very cool.

Game music sack was indeed very interesting, especially the LoT to Rainbow connection.

I think it would be cool if when playing the original, "plagiarized" song, instead of just showing the album cover, you split the screen to also show gameplay footage. I think it would be interesting to see the game in action against the song that its music used as inspiration.

Love Game Sack!
